14.01.2022 Hi all, First an explanation, local growers are offering us their produce to sell at the Tilba market. We purchase and take a small commission. The stall is volunteer operated....a small surplus is maintained to cover losses from unsold produce that is given away at the end of the day.....it is a bit of a balancing act to maintain the stall’s liquidity. Of course we have to be mindful of what quantities we can sell and consider limits to purchase what is offered. This time of... year there is a bounty of produce and more is being offered to us than we purchase. So the more you buy the more we buy. At the same time we would like you to support the other produce and the gift stalls. The Tilba Market is great and as support grows it grows.....growing the grower! Now back to the produce.... Big news....From Southlands Narooma/Moruya. Apples and pears are finished but....we now have Clyde River Bluberries available. And...Araluen peaches and nectarines are starting....check them out! From Sue...We still have more of her renounced pickles....will also have some of her lettuce, oranges, and possibly bananas, raspberries, strawberries...wait and see! John from Mountain View Farm, Tilba Tilba.....Sugar Snap peas, snow peas, green beans, Spanish Onions, beetroot, rocket, radish, mulberries and flowers. Dave & Sam....Sam makes very nice preserves and we will have from Dave...cucumber, zucchini, carrots, kale... Ian from Corunna Lake way....eggs, rhubarb Also Robyn & Tony...eggs Philip...More brown onions, silverbeet, leek, spring onions, lettuce. There is more yet to be advised....more still to come See us at the market

14.01.2022 Say Hi to Steve our next door neighbour at Tilba Market every Saturday from 8am. Steve and Sue sell the absolute freshest, most delicious chemical free veggies and they grow just over the fence from #oakleighfarmcottages

13.01.2022 Hi all on behalf of SCPA at the Tilba Market. Now at the end of spring, the coming of summer and good rains there is an abundance of locally grown, chemical free, fresh produce coming into the market. Firstly a call out....Sue & Steve have the first stall as you enter the hall. They are very dedicated vegetable growers....very impressive, high quality vegetables. In particular they grow an Australian heritage heirloom yellow lettuce (looks lime green) and they are selling ...at their stall this Saturday. The SCPA stall is purchasing vegetables from 7 local growers which we then on sell. We will have carrots, salad mix, zucchini, golden squash, kale, bok choy, lettuce, oranges, broad beans, Kohl Rabi, beetroot, spinach, brown onions, white onions (onion salad yum!), spring onions. We will also have a good quantity of eggs....maybe some strawberries. We will also have Clyde River blueberries sourced from Southlands , Narooma/Moruya. Also local honey from Bob Day. So we will start with a full table......and would rather that we finish with it all gone! Also would like to mention Paul from Brogo. After a abysmal season last year...what with drought and then fire...his vegetable garden is growing gangbusters. Check out the stall... especially if you get there early...it looks amazing. And also you might check out Karen and Ziggy’s stall. Last week I spied Russian garlic...I love Russian garlic. Hope this gets you all excited for the market....my focus is the local produce but with Christmas approaching you could find some pleasing gifts for loved ones at the other stalls

12.01.2022 Hi all This week we have quite an array of fruit and vegetables on our stall at the market from 5 local growers. The produce is grown without chemicals, freshly picked and of a good to beautiful quality and we welcome your feedback. At the stall, we are all volunteers, wanting to support and encourage local food production. Instead of listing all the vegetables we will have....best you come and have a look....there is a lot. ... Vegetables we don’t often have but do this week ...potatoes....strawberries ....peas from John,,,,,Ray has bananas again this week,,,,from Penny ....her excellent salad mix, golden squash and multi coloured heirloom carrots. Sorry to disappoint but no peaches this week. What! Yes Steve, Southlands Moruya, advises Aruluen peaches a bit slow ripening....hopefully next week. We will have eggs, preserves and local honey. Hope you get what you want at the market and thanks for your support of local growers. Cheers SCPA team

06.01.2022 Hi Folks An update on what you might see on the SCPA stall, Saturday. Don’t forget we will have local eggs....from 3 local suppliers.... Growers have been commenting that growth has slowed somewhat due to the mild weather...I guess that means powering ahead with the hot weather. We are starting to see some other summer vegetables coming on stream. One of our growers has eggplant, some are bringing tomatoes and Ray says he has plums. We will also have some tree onions there.....a small onion which can be used in salads or cooked which ever way you like. Another call out are the pickles from Dave & Sam....3 kinds...beets/ bread ‘n butter/ dill....mmmm Of course all that is on top of the wide variety of fruit and vegetables that you might usually see on the stall.....depending on when you get there. Anyway check the stall out to see what is there....there is always a few surprises but they do go fast.
