25.01.2022 One more photo from our new friend Laura. We are so lucky that we are able to benefit from her skills.

24.01.2022 While we missed out on finding a koala today, we all were given a treat by being able to see this tawny frogmouth male looking after his chick. The mum was keeping a watchful eye on things close-by.

20.01.2022 Happy to see a koala today at Tilligerry Habitat today. Apologies but this was a long shot from a walkway. We had good news this week from the results of a spotlight expedition by university researchers. They located 7 koalas and a joey on their route through the Tilligerry Peninsula - locating a joey is good news indeed.

14.01.2022 A huge shout out to all those that kindly devoted their time and resources to make the Tilligerry Open Gardens Day such a success on Sunday. From Tilligerry habitat: we sincerely thank you. To those that came along, we hope you had a wonderful time. Good to get out and do something eh? To those that did not come. Our picture shows proteas from the garden of a kind member who was not able to take part this year ..... just imagine what you missed :-)

13.01.2022 Lots of wildlife activity at the Habitat. The cicadas are hatching and the jacky lizards are on walkabout. Thanks to our friends for sending us these photos. Amazing how many cicadas seem to favour this very thin stalk to hatch.

12.01.2022 Glorious day at Tilligerry Habitat for a walk or a paddle for that matter

11.01.2022 We are happy to say that we have a stock of the Tilligerry Peninsula calendar. Our friend Richard gets more "likes" for his wildlife and nature pictures than anyone I know. Come by the Habitat visitor centre from 9am to 2pm any day and pick one up for only $20. The wonderful pictures showcase our home magnificently and make an excellent Christmas gift.

10.01.2022 Tilligerry Habitat is a nice place to bring the family for a walk or a picnic or a dip in the Bay. It seems the same attractions extend to this bird family. We have been keeping an eye out for them (so have they on us). These tawny frogmouths have just fledged and are hanging out near Middle Gate this week.

10.01.2022 Then of course, if you are extremely lucky while trying to get a photo of a robin in a nest you get to snap this little guy. A spotted pardalotte.

09.01.2022 This is the time of year when lots of native plants are in bloom. Some of the most beautiful are our native orchids. Tilligerry Habitat is blessed with native orchids. Our resident orchid expert, Jenny, has been busy; as a result of Jenny's hard work to date we have found 13 species of orchid in 20 different locations.

08.01.2022 A wonderful day for Tilligerry Habitat visitor centre to reopen. Not only was there a koala for visitors to enjoy but also a bearded dragon, robin on a nest with chicks as well as a satin bowerbird busy making a bower. We are so pleased that we are able to meet and greet everyone again.

05.01.2022 Quick reminder that the Tilligerry Open Gardens are on this Sunday 27th September. You can get your map at Tilligerry Habitat or Heaven Gardens on the day. Gardens are open at 11am until 3pm. There are truly some amazing gardens and things to see, not the least being the oldest olive tree in Oz. Should be a great day. Tilligerry Habitat is having a special on gymea lilies. Mr. Harvey says they gotta go :-) Browse our native nursery for other bargains too.

03.01.2022 It is great to be able to welcome everyone back to the Tilligerry Habitat visitor centre after the holidays. Our wonderful volunteers have been on a well deserved Christmas break and look forward to greeting you and helping you with information about the local area. Our native plant nursery is open with a wide variety of plants suitable for all manner of garden projects.
