24.01.2022 As promised, here is a selection of images I captured for Viking cruises over the past week, after jumping onboard Viking Orion in Cairns last Friday and cruising down the coast via Townsville and the Whitsunday Islands. 23.01.2022 The greater the storm ... the BRIGHTER the rainbow. I captured this image just last week somewhere out in the beautiful Coral Sea and thought just how appropriate given the current global situation. In particular all those affected in our wonderful cruise industry. The capture clearly highlights two sides of the rainbow - the gloomy and the bright. We will come out the other side and set sail again to even brighter horizons very soon.... In the mean time, please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns about your upcoming cruise, no matter how far in the future it may be. We have been and will continue to assist affected clients, even those we've been working with in the all important planning stage that may be uncertain on the possible changes to their cruise. 22.01.2022 I was lucky enough to be onboard Sydney's newest home ported ship Carnival Cruise Line - Carnival Splendor last night for a very short party cruise out off the coast. The onboard theme ... 80's Rock-N-Glow, which kicked off with a deck party of several hundred fluro or rocking guests (the entire ship dressed up) to the tunes of the awesome ship band - Music Manlia. Below is a drone image I captured this afternoon of Carnival Splendor passing through the heads on her first - ...of many Pacific Island cruises. The other is a pic my stateroom, an Ocean Suite, plus one of last nights party onboard :) Me ... well I don't do 'glow' so it was Rock all the way... Guns N Roses style !!

20.01.2022 Exploring the 'Real World' is what we are all about at Tim Faircloth Cruising. By that we mean unspoiled destinations off the well beaten tourist path and the ultimate 'real world' experience surely must be Antarctica !! Last night I had the pleasure to meet and chat with Australian exploration and mountaineering pioneer Greg Mortimer OAM. Greg was the first Australian to climb Mount Everest and K2, (all without aided oxygen mind you) among his many pioneering achievements.... This meeting was at the new brochure launch of Greg's own exploration cruise company Aurora Expeditions. With this Antartica season 100% sold out and the next already 85% booked, it came as no surprise that Aurora announced the construction of a sister ship, the Sylvia Earle to join their new purpose built Greg Mortimer. If (like me) Antarctica or the Arctic are NUMBER 1 on your ' life list' then this is the ship to cruise on. For so many reasons this 126 passenger vessel and cruising experience is just so perfectly adapted to polar exploration. You may not be aware that strict Antarctic regulations only allow for 100 people to be on the lice at any one time. Therefore Aurora can have the entire ship (including 26 kayakers and divers) all out exploring together, rather than the alternative of taking it in shifts. For me ... with massive FOMO ... this is imperative, as I couldn't possibly stand the thought of someone seeing something I didn't :) But also allows for absolute maximum time actually exploring the Antarctic Continent. 18.01.2022 Just finished a fun ... yet early ... morning photo shoot capturing the arrival of the newly refurbished Voyager of the Seas into Sydney for the Summer Season. Hanging out (literally) onboard with Bryson and Josh from Australia Ninja Warrior, along with the Nine Network Today Show crew, before photographing some dishes from the specialty restaurant - Chops Grill for Royal Caribbean International. And yes ... even though it was early morning, we devoured those desserts after the shoot !!

16.01.2022 The kids will surely LOVE this !! Royal Caribbean International Voyager of Seas is fresh out of $97m upgrade and will be arriving in Sydney for the summer season this Saturday. Seen here in this image (taken at the Singapore shipyard) is the brand new thrilling 'Perfect Storm' waterslide duo - Typhoon and Cyclone.... I've been asked by RCCL to photograph her arrival and departure on Saturday, as well as taking a sneak peek onboard Saturday morning. Will certainly post any pics here. 12.01.2022 A very smoky Sydney welcome for Oceania Cruises Regatta this morning. The recently refurbished and luxurious 'R Class' ship is calling in just for the day before embarking on an epic 31 night (Sydney round trip) itinerary that circumnavigates Australia, plus takes in PNG and Indonesia along the way round the top end. Now that is a 'life list' Voyage right there !! We will be onboard Regatta when she returns to Sydney on the 6th January and will be sure to shoot some of her s...tunning interiors :) I captured this image from the Sydney Harbour Bridge early this morning. Of course the smoky sky is caused by the severe bush fires burning around NSW and our thoughts go out to those who have suffered loss.
