25.01.2022 The latest lot of salvage timber we've picked up. We spent the day de-nailing and processing it all! Only just made it in home last night a couple of hours before a massive landslide blocked the Great Alpine Road!

24.01.2022 It's amazing just how much waste there is from the building industry. Can you believe our latest load of timber was destined for the fire pile!? We've rescued it and spent many hours denailing and processing the timber, ready to find a new home as Geodomes or Jenga!

Weve been lucky in that weve been under threat for a month but have yet to be impacted, this means weve had time to put every effort we have into fire preparation. Its exhausting though, being on edge constantly. So everyone remember to take a break in the chaos. Have a moment to yourself and a cup of tea. Have a beer with a mate and have a laugh, because it will... be a long time before anything feels normal again. The tiny moments of respite make all the difference.

21.01.2022 Did you know you can create a heavy duty weather proof cover for Geodesic Domes with industrial heat shrink wrap? The covers created using Dr Shrink come up looking pretty awesome! They make it in different sizes and thickness in clear, white or blue. ... They even have zipper doors, windows and vents that can be welded into the plastic. 16.01.2022 A current project of ours! This is going to be our new steam house! What better way to stay warm in winter!! Well be cladding the lower wall with corrugated iron, and covering the dome with hothouse film.

15.01.2022 Sometimes youve got to think outside the box! We wanted to move our 3m dome down to the front of the property. But with only the two of us, it was a bit too far. A few lengths of timber in the back of chassis and away we go!!

This one has also been designed with our Bushfire Relief Domes in mind (ever so slightly smaller) as it allows the frame to be covered by a sheet of heavy duty, flame retardant and UV stabilised heart shrink wrap (only made in a 9.75m wide roll). There will hopefully be some announcements regarding this project soon.

14.01.2022 As many of you know, a great deal of our country is on fire at the moment, many people have lost lives, houses and sheds due to them. Entire communities have been destroyed. Currently we are surrounded on all sides, weve made to decision to stay and defend. Hopefully we succeed. When all of this is over and we have access to major towns again, we want to be a part of the rebuild and recovery. ... We want to donate and setup as many of our 6m Geodome Marquees as possible to people who have lost houses, storage buildings and animal shelters. These will provide a short term solution as on site storage and shelter while people are rebuilding. In a single day, we could have a 6 metre dome erected and covered using the labour of only 2 people. We will begin organising materials required to put these together. Please contact us if you know any business that might be willing to donate building materials, Ill put up another post with required materials. Please also contact us if you would be willing to be involved labour wise to either make up parts for the kits or come out on site to erect geodome marquees once we can get into effected areas safely. 14.01.2022 Weve invested in some new equipment which now means we can offer Steel Hubs! All our kits come standard with heavy duty PVC-U hubs, but for $200 you can now upgrade your Geodome kit to include galvanised steel hubs instead!

12.01.2022 It's been amazing have a little bit of cooler weather and rain, it has given everyone a moment to breathe and rest. But please, please, please stay vigilant of the fires still burning. When we get a string of warmer days, they will threaten communities again. We ourselves are surrounded and bracing to be impacted once it heats up again.... Unfortunately we can't just jump in there to help straight away. Recovery is going to be a long slow process. These areas and properties need to be deemed safe and cleaned. They also can't be under further threat of fire (in Holstons the fire burnt through the same area 3 times over a few weeks). We also have to tie in with local councils and ensure all safety regulations are abided by as Australia has some of the strictest building regulations. We need to ensure everything conforms to safety standards, and we will. Everyone please look after yourselves and each other. Ensure you have discussed your bushfire plan thoroughly and run through step by step procedure. Cheers!

09.01.2022 We love trying to use recycled materials as much as possible. So weve been using fruit boxes to pack all of our hubs, connectors and screws into! Everything fits perfect and they're strong enough to take the weight!
