25.01.2022 ...Dear Frank, the good things in Life just are better with you! I just want to make you happy, because you’re the reason I’m so happy. Love you always and forever my little mate

21.01.2022 ... Stunning Sunset Skies this full moon afternoon @ our happy place. (No really it is, despite his resting bitch face, he’s really happy ). #whatishethinking?

19.01.2022 ... If you have a moment, or are going through what i am, these beautiful words say it all. Frank-you for all your messages of comfort and support, i hope this comforts you too .

18.01.2022 This hurts like fuk. It is with an inconsolable heart that i tell you friends of Frank, my Beautiful, Clever, Handsome Boy has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge he went wrapped in my Loving arms. I have not experienced the joy of marriage or children but I have indeed experienced an Everlasting, Deep, Intense Soulful Love. A very unplanned & unexpected Adventure was Sir Frank and at nearly 14 years, the longest relationship I have had, LOVING & CHERISHING every sing...le moment. There has not been 1 day when I wanted to break up with him!! How many humans can you say that about? He has without doubt changed me forever. Frank was 95% deaf by the age of 8. It was devastating at first he had a huge comprehension of words, but then it turned out to be what brought us even closer, he never left my side and used those deep blue eyes to communicate, again he just made it so easy. His cool, calm & steady demeanour grounded me, commanding my responsibility it was my absolute privilege and pleasure to be his Custodian, he made it so easy to Love and Adore him but I wasn’t alone To the Clients who invited him to scuttle on your marble floors and then paid for the privilege to play frisby and soccer with him I am forever grateful. To the Timber gymers who came to class just to hang out with him, I know. To the Maleny Gym our second home who never once questioned his attendance, moreover embracing him as part of the ‘Team’ offering him roles as both Security and Complaints department. And finally to Our Friends who ALWAYS included him in Your Life, I know you are ALL feeling my pain right now. Frank touched many many hearts and Love poured in from around the World as candles were lit in his honour as he transitioned. It was a Perfect, just as he entered the world he left with Dignity and Grace in a very Peaceful place. This is a Love story like no other, I can’t imagine my life without you, Life will never feel the same. Endless Love to you my Beautiful Boy, not a single day will go by when I won’t think of You. A Love like ours will surely never die.

16.01.2022 This is ‘Barry’ third generation permanent resident in my letterbox, he greets me everyday (actually I greet him) his mum moved out of the letter box but still lives in a pipe on site. OMG I had no idea that the study of frogs is called Herpetology! Their life span is between 16 to 20 years in captivity. In the wild, their lives are shorter due to predators. An amazing less known fact about this frog is that its soft, green skin secretes compounds with antiviral and antiba...cterial properties (anyone for an antibacterial Frog Wipe?). Did you know that a group of frogs is called an ‘army’? (A group of toads is called a ‘knot’.) and Frogs don’t drink water they absorb it through their skin. Australian native frogs typically produce 1,000 to 2,000 eggs a year. Whereas the fearless imported Cane Toad (Bufo marinus), can lay as many as 30,000 eggs in one sitting!! Frogs are known as an Indicator Species; that is they tell us something. For example having many frogs in an area tells us the environment is healthy. However if frogs are suddenly missing from an area or their numbers decline, this tells us that their environment is changing. This could mean a change in the quality of the air we breathe or the water we drink. Frogs are amphibians, which means they have a double life. At a young stage (tadpoles) they live in water and breathe through gills. As adults they breathe with lungs and live on land. However they need to be around water to breed and keep their skin wet. The Green Tree Frog population, like many frogs, has also suffered a decline over recent years. Frog experts are reporting that they have almost disappeared from the Sydney basin ; it may even be listed soon as an endangered species in the Sydney bioregion. The main danger to the Green Tree Frog is the destruction of its habitat through wetland clearance and drainage, as well as chemical use. Well I can assure you I’ve done my best to create little ‘frog hotels’ around the Timber Gym and it is permanently fully booked. There are frogs living in gutters and ponds and pipes everywhere It’s a good sign the eco-system is thriving here at Hunchy as I couldn’t stand to see any more of these little cuties homeless!

13.01.2022 Highlights and lowlights of 2020 the year that was percent very Different! To be completely honest, i can’t thank Covid enough for allowing me to become a ‘change agent’ learning to just go with the proverbial ‘flow’ and make some long overdue Life Changes (WTF No goals, No Plans) No expectations meant No disappointments!. Started off strong with renovations in the original cabin I started on the property, King Covid hit and I hit a wall physically, so during Lockdown Fr...ank and I moved out of the main house into the newly renovated cabin so Frank could be on ‘terra firmer’ no more stairs to negotiate with his foreboding arthritis. The plan was to launch a fitness/lifestyle Youtube channel (I still am!!) howeverrrr I woke up one day and literally couldn’t lift my arms above my head, ouchhhh Chronic bi-lateral shoulder tears, bursitis blah blah blah after 30 years of pushing the wheels were loose so Less Training more Travelling, it was time to stop and smell the Daffodils! From Bulletproof to totally immobilized I looked at it as an opportunity to learn more about Rehabilitation Techniques and a myriad of alternative allied health therapies. None of which I would have explored if I hadn’t experienced ill health for myself. (I believe I will be grateful for this when sharing the knowledge). From marriage proposals to baby births The Cabin has seen it all - a genuine Frank-you for all the returning patronage from wonderful Guests and their Fur Friends who made The Timber Gym Cabin such a success again in 2020. And finally Heartfelt thoughts to all my family in the UK and Melbourne who have endured and still are living in horrendous conditions due to Covid. My Sister has been in lockdown in London with her husband in a 1 bedroom flat in London since March (fortunately they like each other, a lot!). Thinking of you all I do hope this somewhat brightens your day! 2021 Let’s try and have some fun!

12.01.2022 ...The Hunchy Hills were ablaze last night and the flaming glowing embers thrown into the evening sky was a thrilling delight! This is the ONLY kind of fire we want to see this summer A CONTROLLED BURN. Waiting till conditions were perfect (like 2 YEARS!!), then totally unannounced Fire Warden Denis orchestrates the co-ordination of multiple back burns creating the best Fire Pit Everrr and our very own mini "burning man" .... Officially 2020 Summer Ready! Many thanks to Denis - Qld Rural Fire Service #ruralfireservicequeensland #miniburningman #newbeginnings #sunshinecoasthinterland #tourismsunshinecoasthinterland

12.01.2022 ...’When you let go, you create space for new memories to enter your life.’ So I’ve had a Spring Clean found all these (more than I can remember) in boxes, never seeing the light of day taking up space in my shed and my life - I’ve decided to recycle them and make space for new memories... (coming soon!). Unnecessary possessions are unnecessary burdens. If you have them, you have to take care of them! There is great freedom in simplicity of living. It is those who have enoug...h but not too much who are the happiest Clutter clearing Mantra: 1. How long has it been since I used this 2. Do I like it? 3. Does it work properly? Is it broken? 4. Do I ha e more? How many do I need? 5. If I keep this what will I get rid of to make room for it?. Buddhism teaches that joy and happiness arise from letting go. Letting go is a painful part of life. But according to Buddhism we must let go of attachment and desires if we are to experience happiness. However letting go doesn’t mean you don’t care about anyone or anything. It actually means you can experience Life and Love fully and openly without clinging to it for your survival. So what have you ‘let go of lately’? How did it make you feel? Ps. I’ve removed all the engraved plaques and will endeavour to make a memorabilia board that will be showcased, not just trinkets buried in boxes in the back shed.) See more

11.01.2022 Have you got to know your neighbours better since covid? Me too and well to be honest I’m not sure about them they’re quite loud and demanding, you know in that passive aggressive way. Meat my neighbour ‘Kevin’ or maybe it’s ‘Kate’ (females are typically larger than the male and have less blue on the rump than the male). Did you know that Kookaburras are the largest member of the Kingfisher family? So you would expect them to eat fish, but they don't. Kookaburras muc...h prefer worms, insects, mice and even snakes and lizards. They particularly like to dive from high in a nearby gum tree and swoop down to steal a piece of Roo from franks dinner! For years Kevin, Kate and the family in it’s ENTIRITY have let the out the biggest belly laughs from that gum tree early morning and the evening, I thought they’re just having a good time, but no it’s their way of telling other kookaburras that this is their territory (see what I mean about more passive aggressive behaviour). Ever noticed a Kookaburra laughing between the hours of 9am and 3pm??? a farmer from down the road once told me this if you hear kookaburras laugh in between the hours of 9am and 3pm is means Rain is coming and IT’S TRUE (same with the Black cockatoos)!! They are my very accurate Storm Warning. Laughing Kookaburras are monogamous, retaining the same partner for life (impressive!). A breeding pair can be accompanied by up to five fully grown non-breeding offspring from previous years that help the parents defend their territory and raise their young. Which is probably why combined they make so much noise! But I wouldn’t have it any other way, more than happy to land share and wake up smiling with these little aussie larakinsss See more

10.01.2022 Take that Covid You couldn’t stop Jacarandas from being simply Stunning again this year fallen flowers that make a beautiful carpet of blue. Who doesn’t love the ornamental Jacaranda tree. But despite my love affair with Jacaranda’s which have been steadily growing at Timber Gym for the last 10 years and in Australia for the past 150 years they are not Natives they are in fact Native to South America (southern Bolivia and north-western Argentina) and considered somewhat... of a Pest in some areas of Australia (not at my place!!) as they inhibit the growth of Natives. The average lifespan of a Jacaranda tree is only 50 years old, although they can obviously grow a lot longer with some lasting well up to 200 years old! Corona Virus and I will be long gone, but hope the annual blue carpet adorns the Timber Gym for many generations to come.

09.01.2022 This blew me away!!! Cooper an Australian Bulldog puppy a guest in the cabin, meets his first Cow (actually it was a young steer) after several wannabe attempts to gain the steers attention eventually the steer walked up to him touched him nose to nose, then told him off when he got too boisterous and loud, but ‘Cooper’ came back for more and was totally submissive to the young steer who knew it and was clearly the maestro of this magical playful meeting. Am sure you’ll agree ‘Cooper’ now has to be a finalist in the Cabin Cute Guest Awards (fur friends not people), I’ll roll out the favourites (not that I have favourite, they’re all favourites) and we can all decide the winner for 2020

09.01.2022 ...Ho Ho Hi It’s said you can discover more about a person in an hour of play than a year of conversation. Well i’m not too sure about that i’ve been learning the Djembe Drum with the Fantabulous crew from Rhythm Culture for the last 2 years sitting next to Dorothy, sometimes crying with laughter and yet i still have no idea what her surname is . What i do know is that i Look forward to these Tasty African Tunes Every Single Week (i’m shit and it but i absolutely Louve it ) and has turned my 2020 around, I’ll definitely be banging the Drum in 2021. Sorry neighbours

06.01.2022 The End! What were YOUR plans for 2020?? For years Frank had expressed interest in sniffing his way around Australia so for 2020 we were planning a series of ‘Movement is Medicine Pop Up Workshops’ collaborating with gyms in Regional areas and sharing information throughout. ... Enter covid. It’s now or never Frank said. We are both broken. Let’s do it, a socially distant Timber Gym on tour of Qld call it ‘Wildefit’ so we did. I Bought a tonne of select supplements from iherb, packed the Ninja, the 3 in 1 air fryer (), Rings, foam roller, Slackline and roller skates, off we rolled seeking uninterrupted sunsets in the Outback, silence, solitude and Sunday ritual hair washing here’s what happened. Stop Rewind! Friends if you would allow me the pleasure and privilege of sharing 1 absolute choice Kodak Moment and a memory with you everyday for the next 30 days I’ve got some savory stories, tips and tricks, hacks and facts of how I kept the kilos off, Mobility ON while travelling in a van with sciatic nerve pain, severe bursitis, and arthritis - ditto for the border collie. We ended our tour at Airlie Beach at Frank’s request, it had been 200 years since I had been to Airlie, here's an impressive foreshore lagoon free for the public to frolic where Frank finally landed himself a job!

05.01.2022 Best cure for Burnout = A Road Trip!! . In desperate need of some R n R n more R, I got the call of the Wild for a mini adventure and do our bit for drought relief cos some of these towns really need it. . So we bought a Lamington in local bakeries, stayed in the local caravan parks, bought crap we didn’t need but it didn’t matter we wanted to support Local. Let’s call it a ‘test tour’ a Reconnaissance Road Trip all in readiness to roll out pop-up workshops ‘Movemen...t is Medicine’ in Regional Areas around, right around Australia . Our aim was to get to get to the big city lights of Melbourne (stop in @ the parents) How well would Frank travel, would we even like it? Frank was an absolute champion, we Luved it! AND we were bloody good at it!!. If you have a minute turn on the audio here’s how we did it... Franku for watching - it’s given me A LOT more gratitude and much better perspective on how hard some people are doing it. Frank and I are now planning to do this proper, so if you have any suggestions of Towns where you feel might benefit from a Wellness Workshop or have any tips on travelling around Oz please let me know I’d luv to hear from you! 05.01.2022 ...You did say it was Pet Friendly said the guest as i burst out laughing when they arrive with ‘Jovi’ a 12 month old Alexandrine Parrot. He is adorable and just starting to talk. Get this, they can live to around 40 years old!! The Alexandrine Parakeet is very playful, quite talkative and able to amass an impressive vocabulary according to my guest Salli-ann also known as the ‘Bird lady’. This bird can be a wonderful family pet - often bonding with multiple family members unlike a few other species. Extremely intelligent and they Love to play with toys . Ps they tend to chew (A lot!!) if they are left out of their cage and don’t get any attention!! Guess we’ve all got a friend like that

05.01.2022 ‘2020 Let’s Paw-ty’ Merry Fit n Furry New Year! Thinking of a Pet Friendly Getaway, here’s what Jeri had to say apres their Xmas stay A beautiful fully self contained cabin overlooking rolling Sunshine Coast hinterland hills. Cows are never far away, and the space provides you the chance to switch off and find peace. Annie has a fantastic gym setup that my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Five minutes up the hill you find yourself in the middle of gorgeous Montville with all the galleries, cafes, and shops you would want to visit. Having stayed there over the Christmas period, the Sunshine Coast is normally very busy with holidaymakers. Annie's cabin was the perfect antidote to the craziness of that time. We can't wait to visit again! ‘Stay and Play @ Pet friendly Timber Gym Cabin’ https://abnb.me/lhXHvnuIq3

04.01.2022 ... ‘Isn’t Living Great’ Merry Christmas , Safe Travels, Safe Return!

02.01.2022 ... Frank now sporting the 2021 Summer 'Silverback' Collection! (looks so slick, thinking of taking the clipperz to my top bun ) Does anyone have any other tips for keeping Senior fur friends cool this summer???
