23.01.2022 Towards the end of last year, we made our way out on a brisk Melbourne morning to Springvale Cemetary where these beautiful pieces reside. Seeing these projects come to fruitition really make it worthwhile in a dying trade. The first couple of images are of the Bell Tower Pavillion which carries a 4.5 tonne bell (we still cant believe it). The last image showcases one of the two small pavillions, with the North Tower in the background. Its a pleasure to be involved in... such unique projects! A combination of bending plywood and timber veneers were used to bring the shapes together. All stain matching and finishing was completed in house to ensure consistency amongst all joinery. 21.01.2022 Prince Public Bar, St Kilda Towards the end of 2019, we were involved in the renovation of the Prince Public Bar! There is close to 30 meters worth of bar top here, offering plenty of room to enjoy a pint! The bar top was constructed from solid American Oak, and assembled in house prior to installation(swipe across to check it out). Fortunately, we have the facilities to assemble such a large piece, allowing us to guarantee the top is finished as straight as an arrow, ...and the detailed edge lines up perfectly! 20.01.2022 Today was the first dry run for the North Pavilion, and we could not be happier with how it turned out! A traditional mortise and tenon joint was used for the bottom beams, where a dovetail joint was used to slide the top beam into place (the joint pictured in our previous post). 14.01.2022 We recently completed a custom balustrade capping made from birch plywood. Custom made jigs were used to achieve a perfect contour of the existing substrate up the staircase. To achieve a curved profile, the roof was machined in two halves, which can be seen in the first image. 01.01.2022 Last month we created an abstract wall feature for a primary school in Western Australia. Each piece of the puzzle was individually machined and stained accordingly, coming together to span at 3.9 meters long, standing at 2.5 meters high.
