20.01.2022 TREE PLANTING SEASON ATTRACTS GLOBAL SUPPORT More than 23 million tree seedlings are being planted across the Green Triangle this winter aided by a global work ...effort. A hardworking team of about 150 tree planters, including a large percentage of foreign backpackers, are painstakingly planting both hardwood (eucalyptus globulus blue gum) and softwood (pinus radiata) seedlings on second and third rotation holdings across the south east of South Australia and south west of Victoria. At this year’s gala dinner, our Green Triangle Wood Flow Manager Tammy Auld, was joint winner with Sue Shaw from HVP Plantations of the Outstanding Contribution to the Timber Industry (female). It was fantastic to see Tammy and Sue recognised by their peers and the broader industry for their many career accomp...lishments and achievements at Regional and National level. Alan Rossouw, our Regional Manager was pleased to present the Infield Forest Operations Excellence (Harvesting & Chipping) award sponsored by Timberlands Pacific, to Phillip Dohnt from LV Dohnt & Co. Congratulations to all the winners including our industry partners Mechanised Logging, Gildera Forestry Services, Timberlink, LV Dohnt & Co and A & M Contracting. The Green Triangle is home to Australia’s largest collective plantation and timber processing industry with more than 355,000 hectares of soft and hardwood plantations producing timber for local manufacturing as well as national and export markets. The industry provides employment for around 8500 people.

Timberlands Pacific was successful in securing a Limestone Coast Landscape Board Grassroots Grant from the inaugural round 2020/21. The project aims to build partnerships with two local schools, Nature Glenelg Trust and the Burrundies Aboriginal Corporation to bring together the values of biodiversity and water, social inclusion and cultural connection to country.... The Grassroots Grants program ensures communities have access to funding opportunities to undertake important work in our landscapes, this grant will be used at our Penola Park Swamp site. #grassrootsgrant #natureglenelgtrust #limestonecoast
