15.01.2022 The 1,000+ beetroot seeds our Kindergarten children planted a few weeks ago for The Mini Farm Project have sprouted and are doing well - now they will have to go back and transplant them all!! Meanwhile our little Centre Garden is looking ... Ready for Spring growth.

Today many families do still view literacy as a skill that is taught in the kindergarten class by an Early Childhood Teacher. It is important however, to understand that the early years is considered to be from 0-5 years of age and the process of developing the skills necessary to be literate happens throughout all of these years.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone. Scott Morrisons announcement today is devastating. As many of you know or have had the benefit of receiving, we do our very best to run a high quality child care education facility. We, like many local child care centres, also provide facilities above and beyond and we collectively do our best to uphold and provide the very best in early childhood education. Our staff are some of the best trained and supported in the industry. At this stage we are deciding whet...her to open doors on Monday if there is not an allowance or an ability to charge a representative fee for service. The stimulus is great for all our parents, and we support this, but it does not allow us to operate at the level our families demand or more importantly what we have driven ourselves to provide the past 4 years. Child care is great if it is free - but the cost will be that there will be no child cares open to provide the free care. Our running costs are more than $5.99/hour per child - which is why we charge a gap fee, yet Scott Morrison (ScoMo) believes his government has the right to stipulate that we cannot charge any more than this. Do you honestly believe that your educators who hold the early childhood sector in their hands are worth less than this? We are not babysitters - we are educators. We hope you will all share and support this message to ensure our government realises that their shot gun decisions are not beneficial to our industry.

The numbers are now in for the number of books read to our children over the 5 days with 434 books read during the day and a further 2,313 read at home!! A big pat on the back to everyone who participated!!

07.01.2022 Our kindergarten children spent some time helping out at The Mini Farm Project this morning. The seedlings were transported into their new home to produce beetroot! Thanks to Farmer Nick for his help and time with our kids.

06.01.2022 Learning and helping grow food for those in need!! Yesterday our kindy class visited the The Mini Farm Project with Farmer Nick. The children planted over 1,000 beetroot seeds! They also learnt a little about composting and where our food scraps from Timber Tots Child Care end up. These small influences will hopefully reverberate into a lifelong love for giving, loving and caring for the environment.

05.01.2022 We are so proud of all our Kindergarten children for 2019. A big thank you must go out to all of our educators who have spent time with this group over the years. Miss Steph, Mr Ky and Mis Leasha - this was another great send off for those children heading off to school in 2020.
