He will be covering some team concepts and skills, as well as how to run effective and clear training sessions. There will also be a Q and A element as well. This is a great opportunity to learn from the best and to network with some other coaches. The clinic will be held at Cairns Basketball on Wednesday 9th December, 6:30 - 8:30pm. 17.01.2022 Easing of Restrictions BQ has received further clarification from Queensland Sport and Recreation on how QLD's additional easing of restrictions impacts indoo...r sports. While we wait for our Indoor Sports COVIDSafe Industry plan to be updated, basketball can operate under the new easing of restrictions. This means: Person limits in indoor premises will increase from 1 person per 4 square metres to 1 person per 2 square metres Seated, ticketed indoor events (including sports) can increase patron numbers from 50% to 100% * * . If you are feeling unwell and suffering from cold or flu-like symptoms or have come in contact with a known or suspected COVID-19 case, you MUST NOT attend any basketball activities. 09.01.2022 Yesterday was our last session of both the U12 & U14 Emerging Programs for 2020. The Cairns Basketball Emerging Program is designed to provide a development pat...hway for boys and girls that trialed for the 2020 representative season but were not selected in the Division 1 or Division 2 teams. Over the course of the 8 week intensive program participants were exposed to high level training sessions under the guidance of Basketball Development Manager Lennon Smartt as well as taking part in scrimmage matches against U12 & U14 representative teams. The aim of the program is that the extra training sessions and games will help close the gap and set athletes up for success in future trials. Well done to all players and we look forward to seeing you all at rep trials later in the year.

08.01.2022 What a great day for our Presentation yesterday! Congratulations to all players, and particularly those ones that achieved Most Valuable Player, Coaches Choice and Most Improved. Thank you to our hard-working President, Jessie and the Committee for all you have done during an unusual 2020. Also, thanks to those parents/carers who have given up their time to coach, wash shirts, score, drive, chew nails and console! Your contribution is appreciated.
