21.01.2022 Well finally we can start to dream about returning to basketball. Start dusting off those boots. We at TBA are working on return dates to basketball competition and rules around returning to competition. Stay tuned. In the meantime we would love to hear from our previous teams entered into autumn season to let us know if you intend to re-enter your teams. And Juniors we will keep all names we had previously. Please let us know if you now do not intend to play this year. As for those who have already paid registration... we are working on how to best transfer these to a new season. 17.01.2022 A message to all of our TBA players past and present. This week, our committee met and discussed proposed dates for a return to Basketball. Basketball Victoria have set out Return to Sport Guidelines - COVID-19 Recovery which we will need to adhere to. Please see the following link for these guidelines: http://basketballvictoria.com.au//BV_2020_ReturnToSport_Gu Basketball return to sport is currently Orange 50. This means that from July 20 we have the green light to ...go ahead with Full basketball competition for both Seniors and Juniors. Basketball, however, will look a lot different for us all as we will have to operate under strict guidelines (see link above) this will include strict arrival and departure times, sanitising before and after game, temperature testing, limited access to facilities and a Covid officer being available to enforce these guidelines. We propose to restart the Autumn season that we were about to begin with the current teams entered. However if you are interested in putting in a Men’s or Women’s Seniors team, or playing as a Junior who had not previously wanted to play, we will be open to taking extras. We also understand that amidst our current climate players and teams may feel uncomfortable playing and if this is the case we urge you to contact us to discuss. Lastly this is a unique time where COVID-19 rules are changing constantly, especially in Victoria. We will continue to follow guidelines from BVC which are continuously being updated. 17.01.2022 To all of our Junior basketball players: throughout this coronavirus crisis we hoped to have a return date for Junior Basketball in early August, however our committee have met and made the decision to continue to put the junior seasons on hold for now. We hope to be able to run a season later this year however at this time with all of the rules and restrictions around COVID-19, We feel it is in our players, our players families and our volunteers best inte...rest and health & safety to postpone starting the winter season for now. As many players paid a $50 Association fee when they registered, there are two options for these players. 1. You can receive a $50 voucher for your Association fees that can be transferred for TBA’s next season’s registration. The voucher will be given upon starting and registering for a new season. Or 2. You can request a refund for the Association fees paid direct into your bank account. For either request please email Christie or Melinda on email: [email protected] with your intention and if a refund is required, the Name of the participant and your bank details. Please be aware that BVC insurance also paid upon registration will not be refunded by Timboon basketball. Basketball Victoria are extending all active licenses for individuals for the duration of the period that Basketball was/is unable to be played in Victoria due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not season or association specific and allows individuals to play as many times as they want across the State in a 365 day period. 15.01.2022 Hi Basketball friends. So we were all prepared to have a fundraiser for our Association and ordered 50 boxes of these bad boys below. Problem is all competitions were suspended so we are stuck with these. We have chocolate bars boxes, Easter bag boxes and freddo boxes (not pictured). If anyone would like to take a box off our hands to sell (or buy for your pantry ) we would be ever so appreciative. Or if you still have a workplace to go to I’m sure choccies would go down wel...l. 15.01.2022 The basketball world is mourning today with the passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. Victorians everywhere keenly watched his star rise as he become an icon of our sport. The game will never be the same without him. Rest in peace.

04.01.2022 Latest update from Basketball Victoria in relation to Covid -19 restrictions: Domestic Basketball Update (11/5/20) The next review date for domestic competition basketball will be Sunday 31 May in line with the Victorian Government’s extension to the State of Emergency as of Monday 11 May.... In the meantime, we encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to be active through basketball outside in a safe and respectful manner under strict compliance with the governments new restrictions.
