22.01.2022 We have to lead the fight on climate change, for the sake of current and future generations. Vote for me and the Labor team to do that while creating green jobs that leave no one behind in the process.
21.01.2022 We've been indulging a little bit more than usual at Al-Taher Sweets with the election stress... I definitely recommend their pistacho baklava, or mushabak if you're after a sweet treat! It's always a pleasure visiting Mawson, and getting to enjoy some baklava. Mawson's community is made all the more stronger by the vibrant locals, bringing together rich stories and backgrounds. We've been doorknocking here the past few days, and have had some great conversations about local services, leading the charge on climate change, and our public schools. Having worked at Mawson Primary School, it's great to be back in the area and working to make our local schools the best they can be.
20.01.2022 Providing early childhood education is essential in giving parents the choice whether to, or when to return to the workforce. I’m proud of the commitment ACT Labor has made to provide one day of free early education each week for three-year-olds. But despite saying that this is a back to work budget, Josh Frydenberg and the Federal Liberal Government have left early learning behind. That’s deeply disappointing for families across the country.
19.01.2022 Canberra has some of the best public schools in the country I know because I've worked in them. These upgrades will continue to make them even better.
19.01.2022 Everyone in our city should feel secure and have a roof over their head. Vote for me and the Labor team to keep building houses for all.
15.01.2022 Polls have closed for the election, and I wanted to take this opportunity to say, regardless of the result, thank you. Thank you to the volunteers who turned up day in, day out to broadcast our vision of a city where no one is left behind. You should all feel very proud of what we've achieved together. Thank you to my supporters who entrusted me with their vote to carry out that vision. Whether it’s as just another member of the community, or with some luck, a Member of the Legislative Assembly, I promise that I'll keep fighting for a more fair and just Canberra.
03.01.2022 Unfortunately I have not been elected to represent Murrumbidgee in the Legislative Assembly. I’m glad nonetheless that the Labor government’s mandate has been renewed. I’d like to thank the 100+ volunteers who sacrificed many hours to support me and our campaign to leave no Canberran behind. I’d also like to thank the voters who put their trust in me to stand up for a just and fair Canberra. The next four years are crucial. Democracy doesn’t start and end at the ballot box. L...abor has committed to tackling injustice in our city, but our community must take an active role in holding our leaders to account, as well as working with them to realise that vision of a better, fairer city and world. I encourage everyone who was a part of the campaign to get involved in local community campaigns, their trade unions and in their local ACT Labor sub-branch. I look forward to speaking to you more soon, and again, thank you.
