25.01.2022 Corona Connections Womens Group is on again tonight. Each week we share our thoughts and feelings in a safe space, and then we have a discussion based around a particular question. Our previous questions have been: 1. What has been the greatest challenge for you personally during this period of isolation? ... 2. What have you learned about yourself during this time of isolation? And tonights question will be...... What is something that youve discovered during this time of isolation that you will take with you once restrictions are lifted and we start to find our new normal? (This might be a hobby, or a habit, or a new way of thinking about a particular thing.......). Come and join us tonight at 7:30pm AEST (Sydney) Zoom Link https://us04web.zoom.us/j/77663255556 Elle

22.01.2022 Just a little something to make you smile today. This video actually highlights one of the issues that people can find challenging during isolation: introverts and extroverts. We all have different needs. It is so important to be aware of your own needs during this time, as well as being able to hold space for another.

Teaching these skills to our children will be life-changing for them. This free Masterclass will provide you with lots of information and strategies to use with children (and Im sure us adults will gain a lot also). 16.01.2022 NEW! Womens Weekly Connection Our connection with other human beings is one of the most important things that we can nurture right now. Whether we are isolating alone at home, or even in a home that we share with family or friends, we can still feel isolated. We need connection to bring a sense of normality to our lives and ensure our wellbeing. Ive been involved in an online Book Club and this has highlighted for me how important it is for us to feel this connection with ...others. Im going to begin a weekly group for women who would like to get together and offer a supportive environment for us all to share whats happening for us right now. It will be a casual group where you can drop in if you feel that youd like to, but no pressure to attend weekly. We will chat, offer support and encouragement to each other, and even learn some coping strategies and mindfulness techniques to support those feelings of overwhelm and anxiety that may come up right now. We will meet on Zoom at 7:30pm Sydney time each Tuesday evening. If you like to be involved, please PM me for more details. I would love for you to join us. 16.01.2022 Are you feeling lonely, disconnected, anxious about your current situation? Youre not alone! Please feel free to join our group Corona Connections - Womens Connection Group. This is a space for us to connect regularly during these challenging times. ... It is a place of non-judgement. It is a place hold space for each other. It is a place where we can be open, and share honestly from the heart. It is a place where we can offer support and encouragement to each other. This is a casual space where we can join as much or as little as we like. We can join regularly, or we can come occasionally as we feel the need. Connections are via Zoom at 7:30pm Sydney time each Tuesday evening. I am also thinking about starting a second group that will meet at an alternative time to allow connections from people in the Northern Hemisphere also. So, if you would like to join please PM me, or all of our information can be found in our Facebook group Corona Connections - Womens Connection Group (at https://www.facebook.com/groups/260870738291150/?ref=share) We would love for you to join us. 13.01.2022 When we experience anxious, stressed, or overwhelming emotions, we can suddenly find ourselves lost within our thoughts and disconnected from our bodies and the physical space we are in right at that moment. We tend to get hooked into ruminating about the past, or worrying about the future. Suddenly our world doesnt seem so safe anymore. Grounding exercises such as this are designed to help bring us back into our present space: to connect again with our physical selves and... notice the environment that we are in. To do this exercise, place your feet firmly on the ground and really notice the feeling of your feet touching the floor. Stretch your arms up into the air and then out to the side. Press your palms into each other, connecting both sides of your body together, and then place your hands In your lap. Begin breathing slowly and deeply, preferably with a slightly longer breath out. Look around and notice 5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can touch, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. Do this slowly and purposefully. Have another stretch and thank yourself for taking the time to become present once again. We use this exercise with both adults and children. Children especially really enjoy looking around and listening and touching. 13.01.2022 Self-compassion is one of the greatest gifts we can give. Our minds (via the EGO) are so effective at beating ourselves up, constantly adding to our ‘I’m not good enough’ stories. When we are able to practice self-compassion, we allow ourselves the same kindness and empathy we would give to others. When we start with self-compassion, we begin a cycle of healing, which in turn allows us to provide compassion, kindness and empathy to others. We start with ourselves, and then radiate this love out into the world #selfcompassion #selflove #selfcare #karuna #letsspreadlove #kindness #compassion #joy #ego #timeforchangeconsulting

13.01.2022 Some very wise words for parents......

12.01.2022 We call adolescence a time of DEVELOPMENTAL COMPRESSION. Basically, this means your son’s and daughter’s physical surges ahead of their psychological. At every... stage your adolescent is NOT a child, but they are NOT wired as adults for a very, very long time. No matter how tall and strong your boy has grown, or how grown-up your daughter looks all dressed up, they are still in a young, vulnerable and developing state. And, what makes it hard for a parent of a 14 or 15 year old is that their child is often pushing to have the freedoms of a 17 or 18 year old. Meanwhile, parents are often stuck treating them younger than they actually are. This 2 to 3 year discrepancy between what teens want, and what parents believe they should have is often THE source of frustration for both adolescents and parents!

11.01.2022 Anthony has joined with a few friends to create this group called 'Time & Space Men's Circles'. One of the things we know, particularly here in Australia, is that men often find it very difficult to open up and share their thoughts and feelings, and this can cause stress for themselves and their families. The rates of depression and suicide amongst our men are devastatingly high, and we really need to act on this urgently. Men need 'time & space', and a safe environment to ex...plore what causes them stress, worry, depression, loneliness etc. They need a nonjudgmental place to connect, and a chance to develop new skills and strategies to handle the stressors of life in a healthy and balanced way. If this sounds like something you could use, please PM for Zoom details (either Time For Change or Anthony Hayes). If this sounds like it might be helpful for a friend or family member, please share with them. Meetings will initially be via Zoom, but with the hope of forming some face-to-face circles around Australia as soon as we are able to depending on restrictions. If you are not located in Australia, you are most welcome to join our online Time & Space Men's Circle. This will continue indefinitely. If you are unsure how to use Zoom, please contact us and we will talk you through it. It's really hard to take that first step sometimes, so please know you are not alone. Our first meeting will be this coming Wednesday 13th May. Let's start connecting. #menscircle #mentalhealthawareness #mensmentalhealth #connection #mindfulness #stress #coronavirus #depression #suicideawarness #timeandspace #timeforchangeconsulting

04.01.2022 Hi everyone A few people have asked us a little more about ACT Therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). We did our training through Dr Russ Harris and his website is probably the best way to find out more about it. 04.01.2022 Empathy is the deep connection that allows one human being to be fully present for another human being in a time of need, and to let them know that they are not alone. Brene Brown provides a wonderful explanation of empathy in the video at the link below. Empathy is what is needed right now. We dont actually need to know what its like to be in someone elses shoes - we are all experiencing different thoughts and feelings, and all of these are valid. We dont need to underst...and exactly what its like to be a health care worker, or a grocery store worker, or somebody trapped on a cruise ship right now - we only need to share that we care and that we are there for each other. We call it holding space. Lets try to be aware of our judgement machine and instead put our energy into empathy and compassion. To anyone who is struggling right now, you are not alone. Please dont hesitate to contact us if we can support you in any way. One-off support sessions are offered on a donation basis at present. 01.01.2022 Relationships can be challenging at the best of times. In these current times of isolation and uncertainty, our relationships can be even more complex. Please contact us for a free information session about how we can support you and your partner through our unique model of consciousness. One question we are alway asked is: what if my partner doesnt want to work on our relationship? Our answer: all relationships start from within - the relationship that you have with ...yourself is the most important one, and everything else radiates from there. So, we can work with you individually on your relationship also. Whats our experience in this area? We have been married for almost 30 years, which has certainly given us the opportunity to explore what makes a relationship work. Weve been school teachers for 30 years and have studied relationships of all manner for many years. Anthony has a Master of Education in Cognitive Psychology and Elle is a trained Counsellor, also with a Master of Education. Both of us are also trained in ACT Therapy (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which provides the basis for our unique service. We would love to support you at this time. Our relationships may be challenged right now, but with a little extra care, we can not only survive this situation, but our relationships can actually thrive. www.timeforchange.education #relationships #isolation #thriving #thrivingnotsurviving #acttherapy #mindfulness #values #love #challenges #timeforchangeconsulting
