25.01.2022 Meet the gang! We worked with a 3 dog household over the weekend - but they all deserve an intro so watch this space to meet them all over the coming days. In no particular order.... First we have Coco the 6yr old small breed (edit She's a Shih Tzu/Maltese Pug/Chihuahua) (guard dog) Coco is a quiet little girl, right until someone is at the fence or walking past the car! Then she's a ferocious guard dog It was important we got all the dogs in the same frame of mind so ...all our hard work wasn't undone - she hadn't had any sort of training before but she was perfect! She learnt quickly and by the end of the session she had put herself to bed! #timeforwalkies See more

24.01.2022 Meet Buddy the 6 yr old border collie. Buddy has a lot of anxiety which he channels into his toy obsession. Our problem is every time we mindlessly throw the toy we are rewarding his state of mind and causing him to become even more intensely obsessed. Today we learnt how to calm Buddy and redirect his mind in a positive way to listen. #timeforwalkies

23.01.2022 Today is Coco's brothers turn Meet Opie the 4yr old French bulldog. Opie is a bossy boots, he picks on his other brother and owns his human's and the house which had caused him anxiety. We reclaimed the yard today and had him working a job he could do calmly and boy did he love it! He surprised his owners at how clever and good at listening he actually is!... He also didn't once growl, snap or bully his brother. #timeforwalkies See more

23.01.2022 Meet Halo & Luna the 4 year old dachshunds. These two littermate ladies have some anxiety and barking issues. We worked on creating more positive jobs, lead walking and recall today with great success. #timeforwalkies

23.01.2022 Meet Argo the 3yr old Kelpie cross. He is ball obsessed Aka he has quite severe anxiety that he channels into the ball instead of dealing with it or being calm. The ball allows his to run at a high level close to out of control - this isn't an ideal mindset to be in. Today we taught Argo how to be calm and he did so well! We have him some positive jobs to do and had him walking calmly and gently on his lead. ... Small steps but huge improvement in 1 hour! #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #kelpie #rescuedog #ballobsessed See more

21.01.2022 Meet Aubree the Newfoundland puppy! Only 12 weeks old. We started early teaching Aubree to calm around the kids and listen to humans. Because she's so big we forgot how young she is.... and wasn't she exhausted after our session #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #puppy #newfoundland

20.01.2022 Time for sweet little Annie the border collie rescue. Annie is 15 months old and has some rather sever anxiety around people and particularly little people (children) We worked on building trust with her humans to keep her safe, how to introduce her to children and importantly how to read what she is saying and intervene before Annie ever feels she needs to control a situation. As a bonus we also worked on how to stop her digging behaviours.... #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #bordercollie #anxiety

20.01.2022 It's little miss Luna again!! We had a quick follow up session and this is the outcome! Taking herself to her bed A lot of patience and calmness from us, sitting around keeping her from panicking OR getting off her bed - We were able to teach her what her humans wanted - for this kennel to be her safe relaxing place. And in 1 day IT IS! Sometimes it can take 3 even 4 days to really cement behaviours or outcomes we want, once you've learnt how to teach it - consistency b...ecomes key! Aaawwwww #timeforwalkies See more

20.01.2022 This good boy is Kygo the rescue staffy. Most the of time this guys is very well behaved, walks off lead, recalls and listens to his owners. However.... a few behavioural issues like hole digging in the yard are issues at home. This is due to frustration and bordem so we gave Kygo some new jobs, including scatter feeding to keep him mentally fulfilled. We also learnt a heap of tricks - puppy push ups, spin, roll over and weave through legs. Great party tricks and great for Kygo's mental stimulation Good boy Kygo !! #timeforwalkies

19.01.2022 We can be found on #welovekb 's directory now #timeforwalkies

19.01.2022 Meet Yogi the 4yr old French Bulldog. Little Yogis entire life recently changed with a new little human in the house. Today we taught Yogi how to calm down, not be so intense. We had him walking beautifully on his lead and coming when called. Getting to sniff the little human in a calm state of mind and with all of this he gets to still be included in the house and not kicked outside for out of control excited behaviour. We have also given Yogi some new jobs in life, so pr...otecting will no longer be one of them. The best part of today was watching how he relaxed when his human's started communicating with him in a language he understands. #timeforwalkies

18.01.2022 All the formal training I have completed doesn't compare to spending time with greatest teachers.... dogs! I spent this week out at Tjuntjuntjara with the community dogs, watching, learning and interacting with over 100 dogs - ranging from completely wild to indoor house pet dogs and everywhere in between. I'm quite sure most people thought me mad but I spent as much time as I could with them, even had to load 5 into the car to take back to town because they followed to the a...irport Such a privilege to learn from these dogs and the community! It's just reinforced how I train and interact with all dogs. Meet some of my new friends

17.01.2022 Meet Takoda the 2 1/2 yr old German Shepherd. Takoda's owners have had some disruption of late and this has caused him to become extremely over protective and reactive to other dogs. His sheer size & determination means slow and steady, at his place to re-teach him the behaviours we want in high arousel situations. Watch this space... #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #gsd #reactivity #dogaggression #rehabilitation #germanshepherd #goodboy

16.01.2022 Today was a 'practice what you preach' day for me! I spend all week teaching people how to train their dogs and although my dogs aren't bad.... in recent weeks I've noticed little things slipping, and as a result I haven't been as relaxed or enjoyed our walks or interactions as much as usual. So today i made the decision to prioritise my dogs! We had 2 hours just in the yard of training, baths, bones and now I have 3 happy, tired and content puppies. I have committed to hav...ing dogs and I enjoy them (especially when they're well behaved)! So that means I need to prioritise them. I dont want to be the dog behaviourist with naughty dogs Happy Sunday everyone.

15.01.2022 Come see us at the Christmas markets in Boulder You'll FIND Gympie napping behind the chairs You could WIN a free training session! #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #markets

15.01.2022 Meet young Bruiser the kelpie cross who is just 4 months old. Always enjoy sessions with puppies, behavioural training before behavioural issues begin. Although we have a few unwanted behaviours (lawn digging and licking) they are an easy fix when we understand why it is happening and make sure to give them something else to do instead. That's what I teach! How YOU can retain and reinforce the wanted behaviours yourself ... Remember if it isn't working.... what can you be doing differently?! Or what are you doing wrong? #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #kelpie #puppy #goodgirl #beginearly

14.01.2022 Look who's getting better at - having photos - lead walking - calm around his best friend and people Always been good at ... - looking handsome - excited bum wiggles - giving me slobber love #snoop #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #followup

14.01.2022 Meet Finn the almost 1 year old kelpie x staffy. This pound puppy and his human's did some work on communicating, greetings and lead walking. Teaching him to be calm and listen helped immensely with his recall which went from 50% to 100% of the time. Look forward to seeing how this puppy goes

13.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Emma McCord You win a free training session!

12.01.2022 Meet Kierry the 8yr old rescue ridgeback x boxer. Our session today was all about creating a trust to go with the new and beautiful bond Kierry is forming with her new human. We had been on reactive with Gympie and taught her owner how to build both of their confidences to prevent Kierry's bullying growling behaviour and let them both enjoy being out on walks and around other dogs. #timeforwalkies

12.01.2022 Meet Koda the 18month old blue heeler. This girl has some trust issues and anxiety so today we took it nice and slow working firstly getting a lead on and off of her without her hiding from us. Her automatic has been to shut down and 'flight' or run away and hide. We practised simply waiting and she came put of her shell. Once she calmed nicely on the lead we began work with claiming the door and visitors. Anxiety can be a bit of work to rehabilitate, but the greatest tool is patience AND ability to understand what they are saying to us ! I am looking forward to seeing how well Koda goes. #timeforwalkies

11.01.2022 Off to Perth we go to meet our new clients! #roadtrip #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #perth #perthdogtrainer

11.01.2022 Meet Duke the 2 1/2 yr old blue heeler Duke has some severe anxiety which triples when kids come to the house-the only way he has k own how to deal with this is to nip - so obviously we needed to fix this behaviour! We are doing some practice calming his anxiety at home and putting place place safety measures, like wearing a muzzle which is not only calming for his owner but we are making it calming for him! After some practice we will be ready to reintroduce kids keeping everyone calm, safe and happy!

09.01.2022 Meet Roary the 9yr old Border Collie. Roary has never liked visitors coming over and is very vocal and forceful about this fact. Today I, with his family spent time outside with Roary to begin working on his anxiety and fear. We didn't get off to a flying start, but within minutes I was able to go outside with my new best friend. This is just one of the positives to being able to read dog body language. We always make sure everyone is safe and accidents can't happen - but ...once I showed him I wasn't a threat, he calmed instantly. We have some work to go but a huge outcome today with this lovely boy. See more

09.01.2022 It's Friyay with Cooper the 5yr old lab x. We did some work eliminating his anxiety, needing to work slow with this guy within no time we had him sitting and waiting at the gate instead of rushing it. He gets highly stressed out on walks and stops listening so we broke it down and slowed it down. Instead of smashing out a 5km uncomfortable/ put of control walk - we went 1 house at a time. Coppers pace, not ours. Each house with time he was able to relax. Sometimes we need to listen to what our dogs are saying and not just rush through things. It may take longer to begin with, but becomes easier and easier for us, and much more enjoyable for our dogs

08.01.2022 This clever little lady is Sansa the 18 month old cattle dog cross. She is the epitome of working dog and takes her jobs VERY seriously - our issue here is the jobs she is doing aren't necessary and make her humans lives difficult. Guarding the gate to the point of 10/10 excitement/energy means she cannot hear any sort of recall or correction, makes it hard to visit. Today we taught Sansa to be calm around the gate once her humans get there by communicating and keeping her at a calm enough state of mind to listen. Slow and steady but amazing progress in just 1 session.

07.01.2022 This is Kenai the 2 yr old border collie. She has really been trying to communicate her anxiety through obsessive licking. Once we started working with her the licking all but stopped and she really relaxed. #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie

06.01.2022 It's a week for bed training! We came to visit our big friendly mate Mr Chaos - he has made massive improvements, still gets a bit excited but calms down so easily now. Next step is 'bed' - We have given his human the knowledge & tools to make this happen, now is patience AND..... consistency There are a few steps - I got 3 of them on photo. If I walked away at step 1 or 2 Chaos would instantly jump off his bed, having him submit and relax (Step 3) is the time to step away... and leave him to chill! #timeforwalkies See more

05.01.2022 Last but certainly not least is Jax the 4yr old staffy. Jax has a lot of anxiety and nervous energy. This has caused the two brothers to have a couple of fights, which caused a lot of human anxiety, which has been causing.... fights! We switched it up and instead of keeping these two separated all the time, we are using leads and calm assertiveness and putting them together as much as possiblr (safely and calmly) to rebuild a positive relationship again. Jax does not take hi...s eyes off Opie and is very anxious (weak) so we are spending time walking calmly with them together and rebuilding trust. It will be some work but it'll be very worth it! Watch this space!! #timeforwalkies See more

But now they will both be good ... #timeforwalkies #dogtrainer #behaviourist #qualified #kalgoorlie #staffy #bluestaffy #brothers

Today we went over boundaries/discipline and calming Ragnars state of mind so he is able to listen, learn and work at what his human's want rather than what he decides! #timeforwalkies
