03.01.2022 Windows 7 is on the way out (End of Life), and the still-popular operating system is warning users that they will not be supported much longer. The support for Windows 7 will cease on January 14, 2020, and Microsoft has been encouraging users to upgrade to Windows 10. You wont be forced to make the move to Windows 10, and it wont suddenly stop working on your computer after support stops, but there will be no more security updates, so you will be vulnerable to any new thre...ats that come along (and they will be coming along). You could ignore the warnings and carry on using Windows 7, but once the security support has stopped you will become infected or attacked, as well as make vulnerable, any other device on the network you are connected to. Manufacturers of Printers, and other peripherals, and software Manufacturers will cease to produce Windows 7 Drivers\compatibility for their products, so when you purchase a new Peripheral of a piece of Software, you will not be able to connect it to or have it load or run on your Windows 7 Based Computer. As a business owner using the computer for business purposes, a Windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10, should be a wipe and reload. Yes, this is an expensive option and yes, you should probably look at the possibility of purchasing a new computer instead, seeing as a Windows 7 computer would now be showing its age and will probably be far from state-of-the-art. We have witnessed a lot of In place upgrades, bring a lot of issues with it to Windows 10, both known issues and unknown issues. In a lot of circumstances, we have had to wipe and reload after the update because of this. Microsoft has made this decision as there are still users purchasing Windows 7 and a reasonably large percentage of Desktop PC Users still using Windows 7. Which means Microsoft is still continuing to use resources to patch up an old Operating System instead of all resources concentrating on the New Windows 10. Please, be aware that Windows 8\8.1 become End Of Life in January 2023.
