06.01.2022 New Term starts on next Monday, 20th April! Get ready to start your Online Classes! These are some important tips to get the most out of your Online Classes: ... 1. Have a dedicated space Organise a space thats specifically set aside for your concentration it means a place where you will not get disturbed. Dedicate this space to have everything you will need for your studies, as a table for your computer, earphones, a comfortable chair and your stationary belongs. 2. Keep your usual routine If your classes normally start at 8.30am, aim to maintain this routine at home. Although you may get a sleep in because you dont have to commute, its important your study day takes its usual shape. This includes doing everything you usually do, such as having your breakfast, exercising, showering and getting dressed. Be at a desk, rather than studying from bed or your couch, be kind to your spine. 3. Administrate your time when youre at home One of the hardest things in studying from home is to not get distracted, but there are simple ways to manage this. Write a daily to do list in the morning and then identify your top three tasks. Block out time in your day to do these tasks. If you find yourself getting distracted, set a timer for 20 to 30 minutes and study solidly for that time. Then take a 5 or 10-minute break and set the timer again. 4. Manage your focus Its so easy to go online to check the news and find yourself scrolling through social media few minutes later and this can have a huge impact on your output. If you want to stay up to date, schedule in a couple of news checks during the day. Set a 10-minute timer and once the timer goes off, get back to work. While studying from home can be a challenge at first, its also a great opportunity. Many people find theyre more productive or focused studying o-line. And with the right tools to study from home, youll find you can easily stay connected.
