12.01.2022 FOR ALL THOSE ASKING ABOUT UNI TEXTBOOKS Golden rule: DONT BUY TEXTBOOKS UNTIL YOUR FIRST LECTURE because your lecturer will tell you what you will and won't need (someone will always stick their hand up and ask "what textbooks do we need") and you'll have PLENTY of time to get them 1 Engineering/Science...Continue reading
07.01.2022 HEY GUYS welcome back to another semester! Remember to RE-IMPORT YOUR TIMETABLE. We don't store your university credentials so anytime you make any changes to your timetable you'll have to delete your existing timetable and re-import it again in the Settings tab under My calendars. If you have any questions or issues (deleting friends, unlocking weave) just shoot us a message! We're also not just on the app, you can use the web-version on any device on... http://app.timeweave.com.au
07.01.2022 Hey guys, we're looking for passionate students who'd like to help in the decision making process for timeweave. We're creating a small group called timeweave THINK TANK who would be actively involved in trying out new timeweave features (beta testing) as well as proposing new ideas and suggestions for the app. We're limiting it to the first 100 or so students with the expectation that they will be active in the group. In return, we will do our best to provide you with insights on business development/app development as well as connect you with our networks for those of you who are interested in starting their own venture. It's a public group for now but we will be closing it once the first 100 or so has been reached. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1575702252725496/
03.01.2022 ULTIMATE GUIDE TO OWEEK SUMMARY 1 Bring a large empty bag (preferably a backpack) to hold all the freebies with... 2 Don’t try and plan out your entire day - it will not go to plan, just wing it 3 Get tickets to the cool shit early (comedy night + parties) and be prepared to line up for ages to get in 4 The Compulsory faculty welcomes are never actually compulsory (all uni’s) so don’t go if you have something better to do 5 Don’t join societies unless you know what you’re paying for 6 TALK TO STRANGERS AND MAKE FRIENDS - it’s hard I know but everyone’s just as nervous as you are! WHAT TO BRING - Large empty backpack - Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen - Dress to impress if you’re single ready to mingle GENERAL - Avoid long lines by going early (or late) to pick up your ID and join your main student association (Arc, Activate, ACCESS etc) - Campus tours are pretty long so go with friends or be prepared to make friends in them or else you’ll be super bored - Have a spam email ready to sign up to shit because you’ll often need it for freebies/societies EVENTS - Don’t plan your day to the nearest minute, pick a few things you’re interested in and go to those. It’s a lot more fun if you just wing it and enjoy the vibe - Compulsory faculty welcomes are not compulsory, so if you’d rather hang out with that cute boy/girl then do it - Talk to the year above and ask which events are worth going to (for UNSW I personally think comedy night on Tuesday and the Thursday night oweek party are the only decent ones) - Tickets usually sell out so buy them early SOCIETIES - Make sure you know specifically what you’re paying for if you pay the joining fee for a society - You can usually join societies later just by liking their fb page or joining their group (I’d recommend this unless you’re really keen on joining a specific society and you’re defs committed) - You automatically become a member of faculty societies for the degree that you are in so don’t worry about those MOST IMPORTANTLY Make friends!!! It’s the best time to talk to strangers without it being weird. Remember that everybody is new and kinda scared/nervous about uni so they’ll really appreciate a conversation/friendliness. Talk to the person sitting next to you, and always take the opportunity to start a conversation with anyone looking lost or lonely :) MORE VIDEOS COMING SOON on this page!
