25.01.2022 - ( !) Ever wanted a wonderfully intimate wedding, but also a huge love-party with family and friends. Cant decide? Why not do both?... Thank you to the amazing Aaron + Simone and Madeleine + Brodie for sharing their stories. Also huge thanks to photographers Lauren Sutton Photography and BY THE WILDE + blogs Less Stuff - More Meaning and Unholy Matrimony for sharing these stories in the past. You rock!
25.01.2022 So this is going to be a low-key salty post, but first I want to make something clear. I am so incredibly grateful and humbled to receive the award of Best Male Celebrant at the (currently named) Brides Choice Awards. This would not be possible without the exceedingly wonderful people I have had the privilege to hitch over the past year. These awesome souls took the time to vote for their favourite wedding vendors and decided to throw some points my way. That s...hit is so humbling and I am eternally thankful. You all rock. It also would not be possible without the hard work and time and money invested by the awards to make this a possibility, and that the regions are represented. Personally, I had a blast last night and was delighted to spend an evening celebrating the Tasmanian wedding community. However The idea of receiving an award in a category specifically for male love hustlers doesnt sit completely comfortably with me. After the ceremony, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to engage in a very open discussion, with the organisers of the awards, about the specificity of the category and I can understand some of their reasoning for this. If there wasnt a separate category, the men would likely miss out. And you know what? Possibly, yeah the men would miss out. Due to the plethora of kickass women who are completely boss in this part of the industry. They would be receiving the accolade because of their hard and their smart work. And they deserve it. Male ego my ego can take a backseat. To paraphrase Taylor Im so sick of dawdling as slow as I can, knowing Ill get there faster cause I am a man. To their credit, the awards have started a single category for Celebrants in recent regional ceremonies. I invite other male hitchers to join the chorus and let the awards know that two categories is not necessary. We can deal. The wedding industry is still growing up. It has a LOT of stigma and tradition, and expectation to shake off. Whether it be incorporating inclusive language, recognising traditional owners of the land the weddings take place on, removing archaic traditions which lessen the agency of those getting hitched. Its getting there, but not because of woke wankers like me. There are some inspirational groups, businesses and creatives who are leading the charge for change. The Celebrant Society, Unholy Matrimony, Less Stuff - More Meaning, Unbridely, Dancing With Her and Mr.theodore just to name a few. Im excited to see where we will be in the next few years. Im excited to be a part of it. Peace out lovers
20.01.2022 With the backdrop of the majestic Tesselated Pavement, Em and Ray were hitched in a giggle-filled ceremony, surrounded by their best in pre-covid days. I love weddings that are so close to nature; the roaring southern ocean crashing against the ancient patchwork as these two awesome humans said "I do". And I got the chance to wear my flip-flops (btw its criminal there is no thong emoji ).... Wonderful photography by Madelyne Kramer Photography
19.01.2022 I adore seeing the beaming smiles, of the wonderful humans I have had the honour to hitch, being shared by great publications like Dancing With Her. It was such a highlight of 2019, to travel up north and witness these two soak up their day. This article is their story in their own words. I encourage you all to enjoy reading it, and marvel at the gorgeous photography captured by @thomstewart (instagram)... Congratulations Nic and Mils
19.01.2022 ( ) A few weeks ago ABC News featured a story on Tasmania being a fantastic location for eloping couples. I had a chat with Ainslie Koch. about why couples choose this beautiful island to tie the knot. In 2019, 1 in 5 of the all couples I hitched were eloping to Tasmania, and 40% of all of my weddings were with Interstate love birds!... The full story is on YouTube and you can watch it by following the link.

18.01.2022 Hey Hitchees To allow for existing couples to reschedule their upcoming weddings to a new date, I am temporarily pausing new bookings for 2021.... I hope to reopen my books by the end of April. If you are considering me as your love hustler, but havent locked in a booking, please reach out and say hi. We can still have a chat, but I cant lock you in. Soz. This is a rapidly developing shituation with COVID-19 and my first priority is cat memes ... I mean, my current couples.
18.01.2022 S P A R K L E S While most of my love hustling cele-buddies were rocking many leap-day weddings on 29 February 2020, I was out and about witnessing the bioluminescence in the waters of South Arm, Tasmania. Such a delight to watch the sparkling sea under a star filled sky.... #bioluminescence #tasmania
16.01.2022 + . Following on from their wonderfully wet wilderness walking wedding, Madeleine and Brodie enjoyed an awesome shindig with family, friends and their gorgeous puppy Mabel. Being able to enjoy this celebration of their marriage, in a care-free and relaxed way, was just the ticket for them. . Arriving to roars of applause, sharing some huge belly laughs with their nearest and dearest, and creating some beautiful moments of reflection, this ceremony c...ertainly set the scene for a fantastic evening. . Thank you again to Madeleine and Brodie for inviting me to be their Love Hustler and to Lauren Sutton Photography for her masterful photography. See more

12.01.2022 \\ // Holy heck this was an epic wedding! A couple of hundred loved up folks with a music festival vibe, all gathered in a natural amphitheatre on the banks of a bubbling brook. Yeah, thats all pretty nice... BUT THESE TWO!!! OMG they were the most sensationally authentic, in-the-moment and hilarious couple. Claire + JB - you fill those around you with joy. This pic is testament to that.... Beautiful image captured by the wonderfully talented @lindaangledalcreative
11.01.2022 As we as a community take measures to flatten the curve of COVID-19, couples around Australia have had to make the devastating decision to postpone their wedding. They are hurting, especially as they are dealing with this within the difficulties we are all facing. Its now your duty, as a friend, to .... - Tell them that they are fricking awesome and you love them to bits. - Send them messages of support. Send them a video of you singing a song just for them. - Make them laugh. - Leave them alone if they need to have space. - Ask them when the wedding will be. They will tell you when they are ready. - Make it about you. Your friends need you to be THE BEST FRIEND right now. Just dont hug.
11.01.2022 J U S T J O K E S Here is a tough one that I actually love to have fun with. Should your Celebrant tell "jokes" at your wedding? Anyone who has enjoyed one of the weddings Ive been a part of will tell you that my ceremonies are filled with belly laughs and giggles. But I dont tell "jokes" or "punchlines". Instead I fill your wedding with lighthearted stories, amusing moments and a huge celebration of what makes you awesome! Because the very best laughs, come from sha...red happiness and joy. And then the jokes can be saved for the reception
11.01.2022 Tasmanian wedding blog Pure Bride has published this timely blog for those affected by COVID-19 and upcoming weddings. A good read for engaged couples, family and guests, as well as wedding creatives and vendors alike.
10.01.2022 Contrary to the tone of my post yesterday, you can see here that I am in fact VERY happy to be picking up a gong at the #brideschoiceawards I havent been this happy since I won the best paper hat competition at the Peter Combe Newspaper Mama Tour concert at the Chaffey Theatre back in 1989! Seriously, the hat had tiny paper cranes mimicking corks handing from an old bushmans hat. It was EPIC! Photo Scott Adams Photography
09.01.2022 Here is beautiful gallery from Inside The Frame: photography. JAYE AMANDA were hitched in a gorgeous garden ceremony in Richmond. Their wedding was full of love and laughs. 08.01.2022 To all my current legendary couples, I want you to know that I am there 100% for you. Whether your wedding is two days or two years away, there is a lot of uncertainty that changes daily. Reach out to me. Im ready to reschedule or reshape as needs be. . To anyone else reading this, Ive witnessed some wonderful comradery recently and it warms my heart. Be THAT good person. .... A lot of folks are hurting right now. Support local businesses, check in on those you love (even just those you kinda like) and most of all, be good to yourself . We can get through this situation together (but no closer than 1.5m). See more
06.01.2022 This wedding was certainly something very special to be a part of. I was invited along to Tamika and Scotts wonderful and wintry wedding at Pumphouse Point, as their photographer. It was a delight to witness a heartfelt ceremony by my cele-buddy Rachael Calvert and happily snap away in the gorgeous remote location. Although I love photos, I also adore video; so I sneakily captured a few short grabs of footage, to help make a short momento for the day. Just look at the smiles..., the location, the wisps of rain. Awesome moments! Im not changing from being a celebrant to a wedding photographer. But the joyful energy felt during a wilderness elopement is pretty darn addictive. Its wonderful that the Tasmanian wedding industry is getting back on its feet after a tough few months. Thank you Scott and Tamika for inviting me along, to help capture your memories.

06.01.2022 S I D E B Y S I D E + E Y E T O E Y E . It always warms my heart when I see couples so relaxed during their ceremony; just chillin by each others side. Then, when it comes time for the vows, such a genuine connection; eye to eye, heart to heart. . Jaye and Amanda celebrated their wedding with such presence and joy. 05.01.2022 T H I N G S G O T W E I R D Im a bit quiet on the book of faces, but if you want to see the strange shenanigans I get up to on the gram, feel free to join in the fun! https://www.instagram.com/stories/timgrimseycelebrant/
02.01.2022 On a wintry 4th of July, these two loved-up legends braved the misty rain and "locked it down" on the banks of Lake St Clair. In a beautiful ceremony by @rachael_calvert_weddings (check her out on instagram), witnessed by a tiny gathering of close friends, there were a lot of laughs, a few tears and a whole lot of joy.... I was so honoured to be asked to capture the wedding as their photographer. Yup! This hitcher now takes pictures I couldnt have asked for a more relaxed and genuine couple to work with, or a more perfect location than Pumphouse Point for my first photography gig. A wonderful way to return to weddings after a short break. Full of gratitude
01.01.2022 + . On 02.02.2020, Madeleine and Brodie took a walk around Lake Dobson; like they have done plenty of times before. The rain and hail did not dampen their spirits one iota. . And then, upon coming to a clearing under the branches of a majestic snow gum, they held each others hands, looked each other in the eye, and with warm and open hearts made a beautiful promise to each other. It was raw. It was real.... . Strolling back to the warmth and comfort of their car, there was a lightness to their step. They had just got hitched, in one of the most care-free, stress-free and hilariously rainy ceremonies you could possibly imagine. And it suited them perfectly. . They were then ready for ! . My heartfelt gratitude to Brodie and Madeleine for their vision and inspiration. And mad props to Lauren and Jack for joining them as dear friends, phenomenal photographers and intrepid witnesses. .
