20.01.2022 Nice mention of my two favourite shops in Katoomba. "Katoomba, meanwhile, offers antiques, cocktails, record shopping and an abundance of outdoors shops and cafes. Mr Pickwicks Fine Old Books is a treasure trove of vintage delights, or pop by new business Steep St for a mash-up of immaculately sourced loose-leaf tea, ancient remedies, plants, art and vintage synthesisers."

18.01.2022 Working on a thick shadow box frame for this mixed media piece - I like the wabi sabi fold and drops of bird pooh like ink. I produced this one at an excellent workshop with Pam Vaughan at the SLAB in Hazelbrook and part of the Birdland contemporary art experience at Mount Victoria Museum. A possible inclusion in the Birdland 2 exhibition at NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service Blackheath headquarters. Cross fingers.

13.01.2022 Sold and off to the USA. Thanks once again #bluethumb

12.01.2022 My invention for the day amidst the worst bushfires Ive ever seen (from a distance thankfully). I saw a post elsewhere from our local MP Trish Doyle about having fire hydrants clear for emergencies. Ours is crystal clear but I wonder if there is some simple sign or symbol that could be used to help fire fighters locate hydrants in an emergency. Something everyone has available, perhaps the ubiquitous plastic drinks bottle turned upside down, with a red H for hydrant and staked into the ground. If the H is too challenging just attach something red - ribbon, flag or ubiquitous Liquorland bags. Apparently PET plastic melts at 255 degrees C so they should last until it is too late to attempt fire fighting. Could also be a safety symbol, see the melting plastic and you know its at least 255 C. Photo - the first DIY fire hydrant symbol

12.01.2022 Portrait painting of WW1 antihero of Johannes Heim aka John "Barney" Hines, nicknamed the "Souvenir King" and "Wild Eye". He was a Liverpool (UK) born Australian Army soldier and war souvenir trader. #artrage #computergraphics #digitalpaiting #detail after a Frank Hurley photo

02.01.2022 Thrilled to participate in this show. Do come along to the opening 2-3.30 pm Saturday 8th February to see the bird art of some the best Blue Mountains artists. Commission on purchases help support NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service with their valuable works. Guest speaker our much loved local Trish Doyle MP. Thanks Blue Mountains City of the Arts Trust for your ongoing assistance to the cultural sector. Event details here:- https://www.facebook.com/events/2703484919731717/

01.01.2022 A sweet mixed media miniature piece I created for the Little Facts & Fallacies 2 Exhibition. The show is in aid of the Blume magazine - dedicated to art, illustration, poetry and other writing. All proceeds from the sale of my work go towards printing more copies of this outstanding free mag. "Haircut on the Victoria Pass - after The Pilgrim" credit card size. The Pilgrim was an anonymous early 19thC sketch artist and he/she produced some great images depicting everyday life. This vignette is an overseer cutting the hair of a convict. Its interesting because it demonstrates that not all convicts were treated badly, a class system for convicts evolved naturally and was encouraged by the gov.

01.01.2022 Some nice professional photos from the 2020 Blue Mountains Portraits Exhibition. Excellent curatorial work. Photo credit: Silversalt Photography for Blue Mountains Cultural Centre
