23.01.2022 Photoshop Play. This effect is the 3D embossing tool. It is Normally changed to overlay layer blend mode, which will add depth but will be essentially invisible. However i left it as Normal layer blend as like the effect its created here.

21.01.2022 Location 2 (of 21). A trip to Maits Rest and a black and white edit from an amazing tree. The apprentice's main challenge as part of the Down Syndrome month fundraiser is a cooking one, but at the same time is a good excuse to revisit some older pics and get them a bit of a polish up!... Anyhow, if you want to help the fundraiser heres the link: https://21yourway.grassrootz.com/dsav/isla-s-kitchen

20.01.2022 Simmons Falls, a first visit today - but it wont be my last!

20.01.2022 Do you have a wall thats looking bare? Just like this client did? Well this was filled with a 1.5m wide canvas featuring the family at a favourite location. Its hards to see how the colour tones of the image and the room match any better! I have a wide array of images available, ranging from the magnificence of local environment to the extreme's of the worlds Polar Regions. Of course you could use one of your own. Interested? Get in touch and we can chat about crafting a piece of a magic to suit.

17.01.2022 Its a bit like a Turkish carpet store with colours everywhere on the workbench at the moment!

17.01.2022 The Proofing Room... One key feature of the new studio building is a dedicated proofing area. Its 2.5m wide, 1.5m deep and 3m tall. The space will be lit with ISO certified light sources, and feature a white, grey and black wall. This combination will mean colour proofing and reproduction of original art work can be incorporated into the printing workflow. This is an extension of the calibrated monitor and individually profiled printer ICC Profiles.... The new space is coming along well and looking amazing! Its very encouraging to see my vision starting to take shape. Stay tuned for further updates and some very exciting news!!!

16.01.2022 Location 4 of 21 : Lake Cundare. A very sticky and Smelly day after a bit of rain on the salt flats. Our fund-raising goal was $500, then $1000, then $1500 but now we are heading up towards the $2000 mark. Here's a link if you can help us get there.... https://21yourway.grassrootz.com/dsav/isla-s-kitchen

15.01.2022 As the new studio build progresses, the apprentice helps out from time to time.... I gave her a roller and a small amount of paint in the tray......

13.01.2022 Since the start of the COVID disruption my work as a software trainer has completely dried up. As a result the time has been spent converting a no longer used hay shed into my new studio. The build is not yet completed, but its close and its time to spill the beans on whats coming.... The new studio will given its own web page, FB and IG Pages - these are not yet ready to launch, but when they are the place to go for all your printing and framing work will be : www.otwaypr...intandframe.com.au There is much more to say, but I shall leave that for a little while as the plans are confirmed.

13.01.2022 File this under the 'Wish I was here' category, revisiting Greenland Images from a trip in September 2018.

12.01.2022 Bolte Bokeh The world is certainly in a confused state at the moment. On a pre-COVID19 crisp, clear night the Bolte Bridge, often offers a stunning crisp reflection across the Yarra. But since the COVID19 lockdowns, that we currently find ourselves in, everything is becoming somewhat of a blur, or perhaps we have entered into a state of bokeh?

11.01.2022 Wild Dog Falls, a re-edit from an image taken in June 2020

08.01.2022 Dreaming of future travels - Iceland is still a magnet... This is the last week of my current exhibition hanging at COPACC, with a selection of works from trips to Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland. SEIÐUR PUDDING... Vestrahorn is like a magical magnet, it draws you in, and once you have been touched by it than chances of that pulling power diminishing is very low. Like most 'hero locations' it gets visited by thousands of people daily. But unlike most locations it has a magical power to regenerate overnight. The infamous Icelandic winds smooth out the footprints in the black volcanic. sands, and in winter each fresh dusting of snow removes the footprints left behind from the days visitors. Just like Albert, the never ending bowl of magic pudding, the weather in Iceland has a definite attitude - and often that’s a very harsh one. Exploring this magical location in winter the classic works from Norman Lindsay could easily find themselves transplanted here rather than the Australia Outback. Swap out a Koala for an Icelandic Horse, A Penguin for a Puffin, Barnacle Bill with an ancient man of magic, a seið-menn Some Hákarl in place of the pudding and all would be well... Who would want to steal that delicately flavoured fermented shark! [seið-menn - is the Icelandic word which is used to describe the magic rituals that were practiced by men in Iceland during the Viking age]

08.01.2022 Bushfires are fierce and deadly, and even in death the burnt tree is screaming at us. Agonised, inspired by Munch's 'The Scream' was recently a finalist in the 15th Annual Black and White Spider awards. [Click/Tap required to see full image]

07.01.2022 The shoot director, from 2018....

07.01.2022 Not long off the printer is another great image from Enchanted Woods Photography. Perfectly matched with Hahnemuhle Photo Rag.

05.01.2022 I think its safe to say there I have two definite favourite shooting locations, the first is the beauty of the Otway Ranges and Great Ocean Road. The second is not so much a location as an environment.....

05.01.2022 A bit of archive mining and found this amazing scene that needed to escape into the wild.

03.01.2022 Good luck, and good sales to all those people exhibiting work at the 2021 Apollo Bay Art show this weekend. With a wide array of artists showing work there is sure to be something that grabs your fancy! https://apollobayartshow.com/

02.01.2022 Location 3 (of 21) : Bruce Bay on West Coast of New Zealands South Island, from a trip in 2016. The thought of this trip reminds me of something I can only wish to cook as part of the fundraiser.... Whitebait Patties - yum.. We are progressing well with the fundraiser - can you help push us over the $2000 mark? https://21yourway.grassrootz.com/dsav/isla-s-kitchen

01.01.2022 MASSIVE PROGRESS ON THE NEW STUDIO... Tonight i will paint the rack black. Then load up matt boards. There is 800mm on the left of the racking. I will put the computer to drive printer into that spot setting it at comfy stand up height.... All Editing work will be done on the new PC, that's will be set up in the training room. Next video walk through will be done once the rest of the studio floor is painted.

01.01.2022 Location 1 (of 21). The apprentice loves getting out into the Otways with me, and often wants to take the camera off my hands. These adventures are good for both of us, and for her development. I recall when she was younger that one of her specialist eluding to potential 'lack of muscle tone' - a common element of Down Syndrome... How far away from that are we now! ... Isla would like your help, supporting her as part of Down Syndrome month (October). If you can help please sponsor her other passion - cooking!!! https://21yourway.grassrootz.com/dsav/isla-s-kitchen
