25.01.2022 Vale Phil Smith It is with heavy hearts, on behalf of the Mildura Speedway Drivers Club Committee and members, we pass on our deepest sympathies to the Smith family on the passing of Phil Smith. Phil began his racing career in the 70's in A modifieds, and was regarded amongst his fellow competitors as a well respected racer and a hard charger.... Competing all through the 80's, Phil then turned his attention to crew chief for Greg Storer in the late 90's, then later on, up untill a few years ago to help his son David, together sharing in the success of winning the Australian Modified Sedan title here at their home track of mildura. It was a pleasure having Phil as a long time member, sponsor and supporter of our club. Phil will be dearly missed. Rest in peace. funeral details to be released at a later date.

Next general meeting is Wednesday the 2nd at 7pm at the club rooms.... There will also be a "SPECIAL MEETING" held immediately after. We need as many people in attendance as possible. 24.01.2022 With venues in other states set to begin resumption of their speedway season within the next few months. Our wonderful state of Victoria still remains in limbo. Here at B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura, we are sitting tight waiting on approval from both the Victorian government and Speedway Australia as to when we can commence our season. We have a calender pretty much set, however, with not knowing when we will be able to resume, the meetings planned are more than l...ikely going to change, moved or cancelled altogether. Which we do not want to do, but that's the reality of the situation. So untill then we have to sit tight and wait it out.

If your name is not on the list you will not be allowed in. If you arrive with more people they will not be allowed in. All drivers and crew, must have a valid licence. ... 24.01.2022 So this Saturday is the club working bee, although it kicks off at 10 the gates & people will be there from 7:30am. More than likely also Sunday We have prepared a list of jobs that need to be done, as per usual there's bound to be more as we work through the weekend.... If you are able to assist with a job or task please let us know & we will assign it to make things easy on the day. Working Bee Jobs List - Shove / scrape all of the old track surface off the top of the wall and in-between the fences back onto the track. - Mow all lawns including infield & spectator areas - Empty all bins in to blue Cleanaway waste bins - Clean up scrap steel & fill scrap bins - Pull cupboards & carpet out of judges box ready for refit (Ang & Gary) - Fit mini orb to judges box roof (interior) - Re carpet Judges Box (carpet needed, needs to be measured up) - Half wall to be built in male toilets in club rooms - Fit cool room panel to line the VIP shed - Clean and tidy pump shed. - Clean and tidy front toilet block. - Clean & tidy both canteens inc kitchen areas - Clean & tidy ticket box. - Clean all toilet blocks. - Clean old caretakers area - Clean & tidy the pit box. - Remove the souvenir van and remove fence nearby to suit the container. - Replace gutters on club rooms. - Spray weeds - Repaint track traffic light surrounds Black - Paint all Tyre Walls in pits - Clean both trucks parked in the pits ready for sale. Equipment & tools required - Tractor with slasher - Drills - Impact drivers & bits - Screws (all sizes metal & timber) - Shovels - Rakes - Mowers - Whipper Snippers - Weed sprayers - Airless Spray Gun - Household cleaning equipment - General tools i.e hammers etc - If you think we might need it please bring it.

Over the next few days we will receive a bit more clarity into what we can do and what we are unable to do. So stay tuned over the next few weeks while we work out where our club is heading. 13.01.2022 Rusty claims the Beasley Show Night one of the Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers All Star season started on a high for Team Hickman with the young gun taking out a ...Heat win, Top 6 Shoot Out and Col Beasley Classic. Lucky was definitely the word for it, I went really well all night but the front wing dropped which made it pretty hard in the steering, I dropped to the bottom, then the yellow came on and I could hear the old man at the fence revving me up to run the top. I could hear Chrissy behind me, Farrer and Benny Morris and thought there’s some good guys behind me; so I thought I would run the top and see how she feels but with no front wing I had no real steering, then Benny threw a slider past me, I was going to go back under him but I thought nah I just hold her wide open and run the top. I tell you what I was busy, I’m going to have to hit the gym I reckon, I’m pretty sore in the arms said an elated Hickman at the post race interview. The line-up for the A was strong with Hickman starting on pole, SA11 Scott Enderl in 2, SA33 Mark Caruso 3rd, V83 Chris Solomon 4th, D26 Todd Moule 5th and V73 Charles Hunter 6th. The green was dropped but the rear of the field unfortunately not making it past Turn 2 and bringing on the reds. V7 Paul Solomon had to change a tire forcing him to start rear. SA95 Jarman Dalitz had top wing damage making his car a handful for the A. Hickman lead from the start but was challenged several times by Chris Solomon & Ben Morris with Morris passing him only to be repassed by Hickman. TEH Hard Charger Brenten Farrer in the V34 Frijtek machine originally started 6th in the B Main. Starting 15th in the A and finishing on the podium in 3rd. SA11 Scott Enderl was top points overall and timed 2nd quick in the Shoot Out allocating him to start 2nd in the A. Enderl was running a solid 2nd early in the race but unfortunately pulled infield with damage. Mid race the lap traffic came into play with the top 6 running both high and low on the track dicing for positions. With 8 laps to go the yellows came on with VA9 Dan Evans tangling with a lap car and spinning in T2. With a clear track ahead Hickman managed to keep his ill handling, wheel standing car in the lead and keep Solomon, Farrer, Mark Caruso and Ben Morris from passing. Reigning series champ Michael Tancredi’s V29 had a shocker of a night to the start of the series only doing Time Trials before his engine expired taking him out of contention for the night. 11.01.2022 Can anyone help out an old racer trying to find his car? On the hunt for my old 320 sprintcar. Probably just a roller frame as some panels were used for another build. Homemade chassis with a Morris j-van diff. Ex Mildura car. Any help would be appreciated. Was a VSC sprintcar.

10.01.2022 Thanks to everyone that made today possible. It was a very successful day, with a great deal of fun had by all. It was awesome to see so many juniors coming through the ranks. Especially our 2 newest drivers. They all drove exceptionally. ... Club Vice president Wade fell was the first driver to hit the track since the shut-down began. Thanks to all the officials that gave up their day so we could all do what we love doing. Hopefully the next one won't be too far away.

10.01.2022 Practice Info Thank you to everyone that has nominated to practice. Good News is, that Practice is happening.... Details will be released soon on what group and time you have been allocated for your practice. We still have a lot of work to do to finalise the groups and all the requirements we need to make sure we follow all the restrictions that are in place. As you can understand these restrictions and requirements are changing daily, so it is quite hard to give a definite answer on the situation. However as mentioned the good news is that it will be happening this Sunday From 10am. At the moment there is 2 sessions. Session 1 will be from 10am till 1pm. Session 2 will be from 2pm till 5pm Your Session time will be posted soon. It is very important that you follow the guidelines that are set out for your group. Spectators are not permitted, However if Spectators do attend, we ask that they abide by social distancing guidelines of not gathering in groups larger than 10, and space themselves out around the venue, with no Co-mingling between groups. No canteen or bar will be available. Stay tuned for more information soon.

09.01.2022 For those looking at getting out of the house, this Sunday from 10 am we are holding a working bee to knock out a few jobs around the venue. The judges box needs some attention, The fence lines all need a tidy up from weeds etc, We are needing to dig trenches to lay conduit for running power to the pit sign in box, The grader and water trucks also need some attention. So if you interested in popping out for a few hours to help, it would be much appreciated.... Remembering that all current Covid19 Protocols and restrictions are still in place and will be adhered by. So please be mindful when attending. So bring your shovels, whipper snippers and tools and lend a few hours of your time to help keep the club ticking along. See ya all then.
