21.01.2022 This install was completed late last year and is so far my favourite. It was quite involved, but in terms of performance and customer satisfaction, it was clearly worth the extra effort with both the design and installation. Batteries were the initial goal for the home owner, but this solution makes more sense financially at this point. This is a highly efficient home heated with a ducted electric split system. Considering it's located near Mount Beauty, winter performance i...s kind of a big deal. It consists of 22x300W Trina PV modules mounted on landscape tilt frames facing north on an east-west roof. It might look like overkill but will actually produce about twice the output during winter as flat EW mounted panels. Technically, they are still a bit EW facing and you can see the benefit of this in the 6th image (earlier and later solar output). The new Fronius inverter has been configured to limit the exported solar power to the maximum allowed 5kW for the site. It does this to bolster the output from the existing 3kW inverter with it's own existing 3kW array. The site also includes an existing Catchpower hot water PV solar diverter which works perfectly to track the morning solar output and limit night time consumption. We have kept a close eye on the system with both Solar Analytics 3G monitoring and LAN connected Fronius Solarweb monitoring for redundancy and warranty analysis. I have included examples of screenshots from last Saturday's sunny weather. Not bad for almost winter, keeping in mind there's now 9.6kW of PV up there. To help future-proof the system for batteries and longevity, we moved the main switchboard and inverters into the ground-floor workshop zone where temperatures are more moderate and there was good real estate to mount the system out of the way. Extra LAN data points were also installed. Tell me what you think of the system and ask as many questions as you like. If you're keen for your own setup like this please let me know.

18.01.2022 While I’m away working on Solar Farms I recommend these local sparkies for your continued needs: Ambrose Electrical, Tom Ambrose 0401 079 243 http://ambroseelectrical.com.au Selectrics, Ryan Summerfield 0419 191 285 Greg Seymour 0418 578 524... I’ve worked with all three and they’ll look after you. Thanks for your continued custom and I hope to catch up with you all when I get a chance. Cheers, Tim See more

10.01.2022 I have been working away on the Coleambally Solar Farm. An opportunity too good to refuse. This project will likely last another 4-6 months. If you’re in need of a sparky in a hurry, I’m not your man for while. I have a couple of local lads I can recommend in the meantime and will post about them soon.... https://coleamballysolarfarm.com.au
