16.01.2022 We are happy to see that the Government has delivered a number of important funded initiatives on health and intellectual disability in the federal budget. Thi...s includes: $6.7 million to improve the uptake and implementation of Annual Health Assessments (AHAs) for people with intellectual disability $1.4 million towards the co-design of a National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health $4.6 million for intellectual disability health curriculum development. This last measure will better equip health professionals to provide quality care for people with intellectual disability. With the work our own Health Ambassadors have already begun, we are excited to support people with Down syndrome to be advocates for better health care and support for people with intellectual disability. We look forward to working with Department of Health on implementing these important reforms for people with Down syndrome.

13.01.2022 Prince Philip has died, age 99. Queen Elizabeth announced the death of her beloved husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, passing away peacefully at Windsor Castle earlier today. Prince Philip has been the Queen's official consort from 1952 and was a patron of over 750 organisations.... Philip joined the British Royal Navy in 1939, serving in World War II. After the war he sort permission to marry then Princess Elizabeth, marrying 20 November 1947. Philip had four children with Elizabeth.
