04.01.2022 How heartbreaking are these fires Over 100 homes lost in our little community & it’s going to get worse. I’ve heard a few people mention they are putting stockings filled with sand down the downpipes. I urge you PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! This will not help at all! I recommend placing old towels over the downpipes and soak them. This will keep your moisture in the gutters after a good hose. Using a garden hose to fight a fire will not work, but make your house prepared and th...is is 1 good way to hopefully minimise the risk. Stay safe
