22.01.2022 The most enjoyable community project I have had the pleasure of being part of. A very small, committed and talented group of locals contributed their time and c...reative ideas to this artwork. Part of Trentham Voices, a series of public art pieces to beautify the Trentham Neighborhood Centre, I can't wait to see it grace the exterior walls. Thank you to those lovely locals who came week after week. It came together because of you all. See more

18.01.2022 Hugo Michell Gallery 2017 Srivilasa enlisted the help of Chinese volunteers to assist in the creation of a series of collaborative works taking the form of trad...itional Chinese duck spoons. The spoons are representative of the consumerism culture which contributed to the conflicts between the Red Shirt (new power) and Yellow Shirt (old power) in Thailand. Each spoon represents a person who lost their life in the 2010 conflict. Regardless of their political allegiance, Srivilasa wanted to memorialise this incredible loss for Thailand. The artist invites participants to help complete the installation by creating a plasticine louts flower. The lotus reflects the Buddhist symbol of enlightenment and purity. By completing this ritual and completing the installation, Srivilasa hopes their spirit will purify and achieve enlightenment. For Hugo Michell Gallery installation, Vipoo would like to thank the volunteers who assisted in preparing lotus flowers in advance of the exhibition opening. 10.01.2022 Tina Lee will be sitting The Little Gallery today and we have some exciting news to tell. Tina will be our 'Artist in Residence' for a few months. Tina sold ...her three Blue & White Narrative Pots on opening night of our current Small Affordable Works Christmas Show, so hopefully you'll see a lot more of Tina's work at the Gallery . Tina Lee has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a practising artist and teacher and has exhibited both nationally and internationally for more than 20 years. She has lectured at several of Victorias top Universities in the ceramic discipline, has managed one of Australias most important ceramic collections at Shepparton Art Museum and has curated several critically-acclaimed ceramic exhibitions in recent years. And this year, she was a finalist in the Manningham Ceramic Art Award. Welcome to Little Gallery Tina. See more
08.01.2022 A few minutes past opening and the show is packed - and red dots are flying as works are snapped up
08.01.2022 Times are so tough for many in this climate, but some countries will feel the brunt of this pandemic more than others, particularly communities in developing countries with limited infrastructure. Please if you can, even if it is a small donation, this is such a worthy cause where medical masks are much needed for front line staff and patients in South Sudan. My amazing friend Justine Flynn is organizing this to support her sister Annette and husband Mark who have lived and worked in Africa for many years, giving medical care to some of the worlds most vulnerable populations. The impact of this virus in Africa will be an incredibly difficult time for many people. Thank you for your support.
08.01.2022 Join us for some local Xmas shopping tomorrow evening......some incredible work in this exhibition.
07.01.2022 Happy Days......Community Artwork for the Trentham Neighbourhood Centre makes it through the first firing. Many days of glazing ahead but the results will be well worth it.
06.01.2022 Its long been my view that teachers should be amongst our highest paid professionals- and certainly high school and primary teachers should be paid the same as... university teachers. Respect is not only words- but actions -like appropriate pay for arguably one of the most important- and impactful -roles in society. See more
06.01.2022 Hi there friends, Well, over the years so many people we know have been effected by Cancer, some within our family. This year we have decided to show our support for this cause by participating in the ONJ Wellness Walk and Research Run to be held this Sunday at Latrobe University Bundoora. Am looking forward to a leisurely 5km walk and to contributing to this incredible cause. If you feel you can spare some change, feel free to donate. Your support is greatly appreciated. 06.01.2022 Children need to progress from learning to read, to reading to learn. But many bright children get stuck on a reading plateau, with rising stress and frustration for them and their parents.

03.01.2022 A little Trentham inspired painting being done today while sitting The Little Gallery.
03.01.2022 Some great projects for Trentham, all worthy, but to have a memorial to celebrate Matthew Harding and all that he gave to his arts practice, family, friends and the Trentham Community would be an incredible outcome. Please vote!
03.01.2022 Huge night at Little Gallery on Friday night, with heaps of new local art, a massive crowd which braved the ugly weather, engaging speeches by local artist Basi...l Eliades and Rose Wilson, and heaps of sales. Opening night of our annual Affordable Small Works Christmas Exhibition has become a major event on Trenthams calendar of events. But dont stress if you couldnt make opening night. The show is on for the rest of December. And affordable art by almost 50 local artists not only showcases our locality as Australias major regional art capital, it also offers a great choice of affordable art by prestigious artists as the perfect Christmas gift idea for that person in your life who otherwise claims to have everything they need. More photo's to follow of the evening See more

01.01.2022 When I was asked to write a piece on tableware and the growing collaboration between top chefs and potters for the Journal of Australian Ceramics last year, I i...nterviewed Malcolm Greenwood (among other notables). Malcolm has to be one of the most prolific makers out there - and I was blown away by the quality and scale of his production from such a modest space in the backyard of his home in Mosman. So I decided to make a short video about him and his work. See more
