12.01.2022 There are so many reasons I love working with clay, one of which is its interconnection with domesticity - all those ceramic objects we use every day - that as a potter I get to spend more time with through the creative process, contemplating their function, purpose and the hands that will hold them. As an artist I get to take that one step further by placing these objects as metaphors within a gallery context, exploring ideas and my own experiences as a mother/wife/daughter/...woman. I am so very grateful to be given the opportunity to do this at the 2020 Fisher’s Ghost Art Award, with my work ‘Outpouring’ being announced as a finalist today.
