20.01.2022 We were responded to a property in Doonan this afternoon with a pile of leaves smouldering (1m x 1m) on the driveway. As of 5pm yesterday, a State of Fire Emergency has been declared for upcoming and ongoing extreme fire weather. Save yourselves the embarrassment and read the attached notice and share to friends and family as an increase in public awareness is fundamental to keeping the risk of further major disasters to a minimum.
20.01.2022 That time of the year is here again! We are pleased to announce that our Christmas appeal is on again on the 3rd of December. Our team has been working very hard to get all things in place for this year’s event. You may have seen posters around the area and flyers in your letterbox if you live in or close to one of the streets we will be coming to visit. Santa will be with us, so be sure the kids are around to give him a wave. If there are any changes in schedule between now and then, they will updated in our Facebook page, so make sure you are keeping up to date. We look forward to seeing you all there!
19.01.2022 Local Fire Bans have been lifted Good evening all followers. As a result of all the rain we have experienced in the past couple of days a decision to lift the local fire bans has been made. Effective immediately you can conduct 2 metre burns without a permit, if it safe to do so, and you have appropriate fire protection systems in place. The Tinbeerwah Fire Warden can be contacted on 0429423746 to arrange permits for larger burns. Stuart Baird Tinbeerwah Brigade.
18.01.2022 As a result of the downpour on the coast this morning, the second half of the QPWS hazard reduction burn has been rescheduled. But as promised - photos from yesterday’s burn... Thanks to all those involved
18.01.2022 Howdy Facebook. Some of you may have noticed smoke around the Cooroy/Noosa/Cooroibah/Tewantin areas this afternoon. Our crews are working together with the QPWS, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services, conducting a hazard reduction burn near Mt Tinbeerwah today and tomorrow. It is a low intensity burn however it is producing lots of smoke. Drive safely to the conditions. Photos to follow tomorrow.

13.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas FIRECALL this afternoon in Ringtail Creek. Approximately 1 hectare of bush and grassland burnt. Thanks Eumundi RFB, Boreen Point RFB and Cooroy Auxiliaries for responding. Always appreciate a helping hand.
12.01.2022 One of the biggest stories on one of the craziest nights of our life. Over 100 appliances battled the raging inferno around Peregian Springs while five choppers... assaulted the blaze from above. Around 1000ha of land was scorched, miraculously, only one house destroyed in the apocalyptic firestorm thanks to dedicated firefighters. Hope and I were there covering this massive event... 11.01.2022 Tinbeerwah & District’s 41, 42, 51 and 52 first on scene at today’s Noosa North Shore fire. The fire started in Cooroibah on John’s Road, by the time we got there it had already jumped to the other side of the river. Be careful with these conditions around, you never know how quickly things change until they do. Stay safe to all in the area and to all the fire crews out there tonight
10.01.2022 Great session at the chainsaw course for our volunteers this week. And remember folks - no climbing on the hung up trees!!!
08.01.2022 A very generous donation from the Noosa Men’s Shed. Thank you very much!
08.01.2022 Due to forecasted weather and current operational tempo across the region, North Coast Region will increase the Bushfire Preparedness Level to Level 3 effective immediately Saturday 28/10/2020 for the whole of North Coast Region, including Sunshine Coast. All permits or hazard reduction burning, which are not essential, are cancelled until further notice.
08.01.2022 For those brave who gave their lives so we could live ours. Lest we forget.
07.01.2022 The day has come! Today we partner with the Salvation Army for our annual Christmas appeal. Check out the flyers below. If your street is listed below we will come past with our bedazzled fire trucks tonight at the times indicated. It’s set to be a big one this year! We will be running two seperate areas - Tinbeerwah/forest acres and Cooroibah. Even if you are unable to donate, come out and give us a wave (Santa will be there too!)
07.01.2022 Hats off to everybody taking their precious time and effort away from their families to fight the fires in Queensland’s most devastating times. This picture really puts things into perspective!
06.01.2022 Christmas in Cooroy 2019. Great to be a part of such a heart warming community event.
05.01.2022 Thanks Noosa Salvos! The goods we have collected for those in need is incredible. We will be back again next year to do it all again!
05.01.2022 Peregian Beach residents have again been forced to flee their homes, with another bushfire tearing towards their town. This one hit early but emergency crews hi...t back hard - their efforts sparing homes and saving lives. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS
05.01.2022 It sure seemed like Christmas in July at this mornings training! A NEW TRUCK!? Yes that’s right. The Tinbeerwah and District Rural Fire Brigade has been waiting a long time for this prize possession. Thanks Ken, our second officer for giving us all a thorough rundown on the new snazzy features of the truck before we take it out on the fire ground. We’re not done yet - new recovery gear for the trucks and two brand new AEDs. Each member who has been in the service for at least 12 months also received a volunteer pin in appreciation for their ongoing commitment. Thanks everyone for your continued support - we are all set for this year’s fire season.
04.01.2022 Thanks heaps Noosa News! Great story in today’s paper. Check it out, page 20
03.01.2022 Our newest recruits participated in their firefighting minimum skill assessment last night. Congratulations team! With the hard work you have put in over the past months we have absolutely no doubt you are all more than worthy of this achievement. Thanks to all of our trainers, assessors and Maroochy River RFB for making it happen.
03.01.2022 Hi Folks, A reminder that in the Noosa area including Tinbeerwah, we are still in a TOTAL FIRE BAN until 13th January. Please talk among your neighbours to remind them of this requirement as some people think that as we have had a bit of rain it's ok to light up. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN KEEPING OUR COMMUNITY FIRE SAFE
02.01.2022 Could you smell smoke today ? A bird is to blame! A bird that flew into a powerline has sparked a major bushfire in Bells Creek today. The 100ha fire, which broke out about 11am, was described by authorities as being "touch and go" before it was contained about 4pm. Another timely reminder of how quickly fires could break out.
