25.01.2022 2020 JR REUNION Refund Rollout Ready To Go WWW.TINGIRA.ORG.AU Tingira Australia President, Lance Ker, has given the green light for the 2020 JR Reunion refunds to commence after several large deposits were returned to the Association last week. We have a large portion of the deposit cash back in the can; the budget boys have juggled the $ figs and we will all lose 19 cents in the dollar. I’m very happy with that outcome, last week the equation was about 80 cents and... looking very grim’ said a much relieved Lance Ker from his Queensland Bundaberg pad on Sunday evening. 2020 JR Reunion participants seeking refunds to the event programs are required to ‘LOG IN’ to the 2020 JR Reunion website and then hit the big yellow refund button. Your BSB and Bank account number are required, insert these details, a new calculated fig is given along with a question for a donation if you wish. Hit submit and the treasury lads will endeavour to have the refund in your account within 14 days. If this fails to work email your BSB and Bank Acc No to SEC for manual refund. E [email protected] Many Tingira Boys have already DONATED their ticket price back to the association and that is most welcome and appreciated. The site will cease on July 1st. All unclaimed moneys after this date will go to the Tingira Australia Association; the special dedicated 2020 JR Reunion website will be closed down and the system made void. 2020 JR Reunion merchandise has now been delivered last week nationally. Some parcels will be slow to regional and interstate areas due to air traffic and cargo restrictions, so far many good positive comments on social media in the first 48 hours. There are a few extra reunion merchandise items left over and already the wires are a buzz with how do I get such items. Send your request by email to the Tingira Secretary, Mark Lee ([email protected]) and he will accommodate a ‘one on one’ special purchase for you however they are very limited especially the two volume book set, ‘A Life Long Voyage’. 22.01.2022 TINGIRA DAY Monday 13 July 2020 Happy Birthday Tingira Boys, especially the 155 boys of the first intake who went through those HMAS Leeuwin gates 60 years to this day. ... What should have been a great 2020 JR Reunion over the weekend in Perth with this evenings celebration dinner was not to be. 16.01.2022 2020 DRIVEWAY ANZAC SERVICE The cancellation of the national ANZAC Day March and thousands of Dawn Service events across the nation due to COVID-19, it is with great pride and distinction that I am informed that many ‘Tingira Boys’ will take up the call from National RSL suggestion to perform the ‘home driveway ANZAC Service’, said Tingira Australia Association President, Lance Ker. The RSL’s initiative of the ‘home driveway service’ at 6am on Saturday 25 April, to light ...up a light, play the Last Post and reflect the sacrifice of our ANZAC brothers and sisters; this is a great outcome for a difficult time in all our lives over these past weeks and the RSL have taken a great lead on this important national event. Many of our Tingira Boys will make a home wreath, recite the Naval Ode, dress in their Tingira attire with decorations, some may raise or display a navy White Ensign or Australian National flag, all with great pride in their home driveway or garden front. The tradition of a commemorative functions at old navy drinking bars, the Bells, Hero Waterloo, The Orient or Lord Nelson Hotels will be beyond the reach of our members this year. However, I am assured many will take on an old naval tradition of a Tot of Rum at sunrise remembering their Tingira brothers and all ANZAC members before them, said Lance Ker.
