Thanks for everyone’s kind thoughts and messages, we can’t wait to have you back in the store instead of serving you through a crack in the door. Really looking forward to seeing you all again soon. 25.01.2022 TINKERS would like to announce we are still trading as normal. Wherever possible we will be completing all jobs on the spot in preparation for any mandatory temporary government announced restrictions. Whilst larger retailers such as Bunnings are unable to cut house keys etc, we have received a large order of key blanks and button cell batteries to see us through. All services are still available. Jewellery repairs, watch repairs, key cutting, engraving and clothing alteratio...ns etc. All we ask is everyone follows the strict health rules and please stay home if you have any doubt about your health. We all go home to loved ones we want to keep safe. Coming out of this, please keep supporting all retailers at Mountain Gate. 25.01.2022 Here we have one of our most favourite customers back once again with some more of her old jewellery in for an update and a fresh new look. A mix of old bracelets, chains and rings were all stripped of their stones and melted to create this very special one of a kind piece. A beautiful fine white emerald cut diamond hugged by two matching tapered baguette diamonds are surrounded by a highly polished almond shaped rose gold reflective frame. Supporting the main attraction is ...a plain and subtle yellow gold split bangle. Our trusting customer allowed us 100% freedom to design a piece to compliment her other lovely pieces and was pleasantly surprised and equally impressed when she viewed her new favourite for the very first time. Its very special when we develop these long lasting and trusting relationships with our customers. It allows us to create these unique examples and have a lot of fun along the way. 23.01.2022 I was lucky enough to be pointed to these guys by the big chain of hardware stores and what a find! A long running, local business right here in knox that does ...show repairs, clothing alterations, jewellery and most important for me, old cupboards keys! My 98 year old grandmother will be happy

22.01.2022 Here we have 5 larger diamonds totalling just under 3 carats. The challenge was to fit all five into a modern design without making it look too chunky. This is very difficult to achieve with so many large stones. Using a horizontal white gold band with a gradual curve around the larger centre stone allowed me to fit all 5 stones in. The yellow gold band is a nice contrast to compliment and highlight the white gold band of diamonds.

21.01.2022 Heres the latest out of the workshop. Another handful of a customers unwanted and broken bits of jewellery melted and formed into a gently sweeping wave bangle, hammer set with a range of differently shape diamonds surrounding an emerald. Bangles are a great way to repurpose your old gold. Being solid and having no moving links, they wont ware down or dent like hollow jewellery and theyll last for generations to come.

10.01.2022 Another piece designed and created here at TINKERS. Our trusting client gave me the freedom to design a bracelet to display a ruby they had purchased overseas. Our customer wears both white gold and yellow gold, so I chose to make it 2 tone as it is very versatile. It’s made to measure, so the ruby will always sit on top and not spin under the wrist. Something a little different to the standard mass produced products found in major jewellers and made to last.

06.01.2022 Ok, so here it is. The 3 lovely solid natural black opals I shared with you back in November are finally set. I chose rose gold to complement the warm red flashes in the opals and white gold the contrast with a crisp look against the green flashes. I also added an emerald and a ruby to draw the colours out, and a diamond for a touch of elegance. It was tricky to come up with a design to fit the 3 differently shaped stones but I really enjoyed the challenge. I hope the receiver of this stunning piece enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.
