03.01.2022 Meet Neil Hoffman. He's one of our four feature artists this year who call Tasmania home but have made an impact on the global stage. Neil lives in Reedy Marsh... Tasmania, where he's worked with clay and fire for over thirty-five years. Initially producing gas-fired tableware, Neil now fires wood-burning kilns for the making of both sculpture and tableware. In 2009 the National Gallery of Australia purchased his work for their collection in Canberra. See more about Neil and our other feature artists here: https://www.tascraftfair.com.au/exhibitors/neil-hoffmann #TasCraftFair | October 29 - November 1
03.01.2022 Does Tasmania inspire you? Inform your work and creativity? Then be part of our inaugural exhibition celebrating this amazing place and her fauna, flora and peo...ple and get your entries in for the Artist in Residence Trail Tasmania in charming Deloraine, Tasmania from October 24th to November 8th, 2020. The themes for the Exhibition include: Rivers of Life, Mountain Inspirations, Wildlife Wonders and Vibrant Communities with works to be inspired by northern Tasmania. The range of media for the exhibition is varied and includes textiles, paintings, sculpture, woodwork, prints and woodwork. Because of Covid-19 travel restrictions the Art in Residence Trail has had a very different start to life than we anticipated but we decided that the Exhibition could still go ahead as so many artists and artisans across Australia have work that is inspired by this beautiful region of Tasmania. The exhibition is being held over three locations in Deloraine: Art as Mania, Highland Felting and Fibre Supplies and Cycles at The Empire Hotel. Entries need to have been completed since 2016, including this year, and in the medium preferred by the artist that aligns to one of the four themes. Due to Facebook restrictions we'll include website links for the entry form and more details in the comments below. We do hope you join us with this exciting free exhibition and send in your entries in your preferred medium.

01.01.2022 Attention all those in Lonnie on Saturday who like mushrooms! Two resident Tin Shed artists (Flameworked glass artist Helene @hmboyer and Mixed Media artist Lez @mamt.lez) are part of the worldwide leave no trace celebratory art event Game of Shrooms on this Saturday, August 15. Artists across the globe create mushroom themed art and leave their work in a public place for others to find and keep. Clues to the shroom’s locations are given on the artist’s Instagram or Facebook pages early Saturday before the hunt begins.
