Both screenings were sold out and the film was enthusiastically received by critics, academics, fellow filmmakers and the general public alike. Financed by Irish Language broadcaster TG4, the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI), the producers themselves, and Section 481 Film Relief, the film was inspired by Siobhán Lynam's radio documentary [ 531 more words ] http://tintean.org.au//violet-gibson-the-irish-woman-who-/

10.01.2022 South Australia, some additional material. I have just found some more of my research on the orphans sent to South Australia. You may remember from earlier posts that the Imperial authorities in Britain, recognizing the difference between the colonies, dealt with South Australia separately from New South Wales. See for example my posts 13 earl-greys-irish-famine-orphans-13 and 16 earl-greys-irish-famine-orphans-16 It looks like my newly surfaced folder consists mainly of [ 1,431 more word ] https://earlgreysfamineorphans.wordpress.com//earl-greys-/
