22.01.2022 It was so lovely to sit back and observe miss J’s creative play skills this afternoon. She developed a story theme using loose parts, fabrics and felt fairies.

20.01.2022 How beautiful it is for baby M to have such a caring & thoughtful friend to sing her to sleep at nap time.

15.01.2022 Thank you Joy for the lovely big mulberry leaves from your tree. The silkworms are loving them and the children are noticing how much they’re growing.

09.01.2022 Multiple families in my service are being impacted negatively by this! The aim is to keep children in care! I have families with essential jobs that no longer have access to holiday care even if they are willing to pay full fees. I am now forced to close Mondays, forced to cancel my casual bookings as well as some of my school holiday bookings because the government wage won’t cover it! ... This new package is great for families with children in centres but a ripoff to fdc educators!! The government is paying 50% of our wage pre COVID-19 (last 2 weeks of Feb). I wasn’t working Mondays back then so it’s forcing me to shut down Mondays again otherwise I’ll be working for free. Also the max hourly rate the government will be paying us per child is $1.50 less than my current rate. They are looking at giving us a fortnightly job keeper wage but that wouldn’t come in to effect until May and still won’t cover money lost due to cancelling casual/holiday bookings. We are 100% essential workers putting our own famille’s health at risk so we can support fdc families and provide ongoing professional care during this crisis and in return we receive a 50% cut in wage and loss of income for future bookings. It’s not right and MUST change!!

08.01.2022 Thanks for bringing in this box today Ally & Rob, the children have been very busy creating a rocket ship together.

07.01.2022 We are all very excited to have Mr J and D here for the school holidays. Together the children initiated their own play, recycling water using a large pipe.

06.01.2022 During group time miss E was very excited to tell us about the sunflower seeds she planted at home. We had a look at pictures of the sunflower lifecycle & instead of our planned spring craft, children decided they’d like to do sunflower craft instead. They definitely brightened up the room displayed on our art wall today.

04.01.2022 Thank you so much to the families that nominated me this year. It’s much appreciated!

04.01.2022 We all need to share the load to get through this COVID-19 pandemic, but if the cuts are to harsh and childcare folds... What happens then? I worry the cuts are... to harsh.
