16.01.2022 I am not one to post personal messages, but today I feel the need. Tomorrow in Western Australia, many children return to school. After careful consideration by some parents, others will remain at home. There are confusing and conflicting messages coming from government, unions and the various sectors about the safety of students returning to classes. But consider this. Teachers are in the profession because of a passion for educating students. That passion does not stop whe...n children are at home. Along with that passion comes a consciousness for student safety. If teachers do not keep these things at the forefront of their minds, then the task of educating becomes so much more difficult. We care for kids. So, to our leaders, I say regardless of your differences of opinion, just continue to enable us to do our job well. To parents, I say teachers have the best interests of your precious children in mind, whether they are at home or with us at school. And to fellow teachers I say, hang in there, there is light at the end of the tunnel. There are many positives we can take from this covid-19 experience. Let's focus on those things as we go into this term. See more
