25.01.2022 If you’re in Brisbane City and looking for a place to escape the rain there’s a tiny bit of shelter in King George Square. This is part of Brisbane Open House.

23.01.2022 It's been a while, but to be fair Greg's been flat out and Andrew and Lara had a baby (again). Here's what we've been up to in our 'spare' time - a kitchen reno in a 100 year old Queensland workers' cottage. http://www.tinyhousecompany.com.au/kitchen-renovation

06.01.2022 Again thanks so much to those that donated to the Winter Sleep out. Especially a massive thanks to Greg and Margie, Gaia, Helen, Lauren and everyone else including the key organisers of the event Kellie and Michael. Also, Sarah, Emily, Katrina, and Carolyn. ... "Your donation makes an important contribution to Second Chances program to support Youth Connect of the next few years. Together we are helping young women exiting foster care or youth detention to have a safe home, help and education to maintain their tenancy and the all important emotional assistance that every young adult needs, even as they pass beyond 18 years of age. We are really passionate abut the potential of this project, in its ability to prevent homelessness and help provide the ingredients for a good start to adult life, even when childhood has been traumatic and difficult. Through your help in fundraising so wonderfully for Second Chance we have paid our first instalment to Youth Connect this month...benefiting 300 young women over the next seven years. " Thank you all

04.01.2022 It's been a long time between posts but we wanted to share some good news from the world of composting toilets. Way back when we were designing our first 'Portal' tiny house on wheels we told EcoFlow about the unique clearance requirements under tiny houses on wheels and the need for a shallower chamber - it looks like they were listening. :) https://ecoflo.com.au//do/split-system-composting-toilets

03.01.2022 To those who have taken an interest in our work and supported us along the way, we want to share some news of our plans for 2019 and beyond. The past 3 years have been a wild ride - we’ve had the pleasure of collaboratively designing and building to a difficult brief, challenging councils’ laws, having a crack at providing affordable housing, and more than our share of advocacy work. We now feel though that our role has reached its end, and that it’s time for us to focus our ...energy elsewhere. (To our existing and past clients, don’t worry - we’re not going anywhere. This is just a heads up about our plans after completing all current commitments.) So as of 2019, The Tiny House Company will no longer be building tiny houses on wheels. Thank you all so much for the support. It’s been very challenging and deeply fulfilling. and as for what’s next for The Tiny House Company, we’re setting our sights on the themes of co-housing, inter-generational housing, and the design and construction of thoughtful, beautiful little homes. And somewhere amongst all that Greg’s going to carry on his fine work leading the team at Greg Thornton Constructions, and Lara and Andrew are getting married, and having a second child. We have so many more thoughts to share with you, looking back on three years immersed in the world of tiny houses with the clarity of hindsight, but that’s one for another time All the very best, Greg, Andrew and Lara
