25.01.2022 WISE WINE WEDNESDAY // Did you know that in Australia we can no longer use the term 'Port'? Like Champagne, the term Port came from "Porto"; the Portuguese wine region of Douro. We still use the term tawny to denote a fortified wine that comes from a solera of different vintages (as opposed to a single vintage). This @jerichowines Tawny is as rare as hens teeth but one of the best examples out there of the layers of richness yet crisp acidity you can find in these styles. 24.01.2022 Sunday stroll in the vineyard, don't mind if I do! Damian North from @journeywines is always out in the vineyards checking quality and chatting with the growers. A strong relationship with all the growers is vitally important to producing serious quality wines like the whole range of Journey Wines.

23.01.2022 If you've ever been to @dukesvineyard cellar door, chances are you would have met Freddie. As passionate about Dukes wines as the man himself, Freddie loves sharing these amazing wines with cellar door visitors and she is also the person behind the scenes making sure that all the orders get where we need them to go. Freddie loves fishing and is loving the brand new release of the Magpie Hill Riesling. 2020 will go down as one of the best vintages on record, however get in quick as there is very little around.

22.01.2022 Best kind of Bucket List! One thing on our bucket list was to retire my hubby Michael into the business and we are stoked to say from the 1st of September, he will be joining the crew. The best thing about this, is it frees up both Tony's and my time to come see all of our gorgeous customers more and share our incredible wines and beers. Look forward to seeing you all soon.

18.01.2022 Loving this wintery weather and getting back into the reds. The @ulithorne.wine Nova Duo (new two) Grenache and Shiraz is light on with oak, but packed full of flavour. Juicy red berries combine seemlessly with violets and rich, dark chocolate. Light silky tannins and a lingering finish means I'm generally half way through the bottle before dinner is even cooked. Not available everywhere, but worth searching out. Try @swanbournecellars and @liquorbarons.herdsman

18.01.2022 Anyone who knows me, knows how true this is. Since swirling half a glass of red wine all over a white top with a winemaker (and having to wear that top for the rest of the day) many years ago, you will never see me in white when showing red wines again. Anyone else plan their wardrobe around wine spillage???

Those of you who are super keen would know that we have just released the 2020 Magpie Hill and Single Vineyard Rieslings and would also know that there is only a third of what is normally available. As distributors, we are already sold out, so get in quick to your nearest great independently owned bottleshop.

16.01.2022 The release of the 2020 @singlefilewine Pinot Grigio has everyone smiling. Fermented completely dry, this wine has wonderful aromatics of nashi pear and white pepper. Zippy acidity, plenty of fruit and some weight and creamy texture means this wine will match perfectly with fish, creamy pasta or just enjoy it on its own.

15.01.2022 Hey dad, you left some wine on your cheek but I'll get it for you! When the @gracefarm wines are so good even Roy can't resist them. Have you tried the 2019 Grace Farm SBS? Unlike most blends from Margaret River, this is Sauvignon Blanc dominant, not Semillon dominant leading to more passionfruit, lemon sherbet and lime blossom characters. However partial barrel fermentation adds both weight and texture making this a fabulous food friendly wine. 15.01.2022 When going back to work on a Monday looks like this, you'd have to be pretty happy about it. Neil Jericho contemplates every wine in the @jerichowines portfolio to make sure the blend is just perfect. The wines need to be in balance, first and foremost! They need flavour and typicity of both variety and region and all of that leads to extremely drinkable wines. Stocked at great independent bottleshops including @devine_cellars and @winebox_aus in Shenton Park.

14.01.2022 Any time is Chardonnay time, especially when it's this good! The @mainandcherry Chardonnay is left on skins for 8 days to build texture and then fermented with wild yeast in old oak barrels. The acidity of the Adelaide Hills comes through but is so well balanced with the purity of citrus and stone fruits. Unfined, unfiltered and with minimum sulfur added, it boarders on the 'natural' wine movement but one that traditional Chardonnay drinkers will absolutely fall in love with. 14.01.2022 WISE WINE WEDNESDAY // Did you know that Australia has the oldest surviving Cabernet Sauvignon still producing grapes off their own roots in the world? Although there are no official records as to when the Cabernet, Shiraz and Grenache vines were planted on the truly unique site owned by the Zerk family in the Barossa, the guys @purplehandswines engaged a historian to find out the history and estimate that they were planted somewhere between 1880-1890. The Planta Circa range now includes wines from all 3 varieties and they are all insane value at $80 RRP

10.01.2022 Singlefile Wines is a real family affair. Co-founded in 2007 by geologists Phil and Viv Snowden, along with their daughter Pam and son-in-law Patrick Corbett, @singlefilewines rise to the elite levels of Australian wine happened really quickly, however when you get to know this family and the meticulousness with which they make every decision based on improving the quality of every part of their wine journey, the acclaim and accolades they have received really comes at no surprise at all. My pick of the wines would have to be the Run Free Pinot Noir. Being a lover of Pinot Noir is an expensive habit, so I absolutely love finding a Pinot at less than $30 that has layers of flavour, great cherries and savoury smoky meat undertones.

07.01.2022 You may not have seen John and Elisabeth Mair from @gracefarm around delivering your wines as much as usual during the Covid19 times, as they took some time out to really enjoy the seasons on the property and tend to the olives trees and ever growing vegie patch. They love being in the vineyard and helping Tim Quinlan (the vine whisperer - or viticulturalist for short) and say that the 2020 vintage, although smaller than most, is looking superb in its quality.

04.01.2022 When people genuinely care about retaining and restoring history, amazing things can happen. From a run down and derilict cottage, to this amazing space, the restoration of the Smithy cottage next door to @gibsonwines cellar door has been a labour of love and dedication. Part proceeds of the sales of the "Smithy Cabernet / Shiraz" go towards the restoration and upkeep of this incredible time capsule. Anne and Rob Gibson love enjoying this space (especially with the fire going) and would love to share it with you when you are able to get to the Barossa again.

02.01.2022 One of the absolute legends of the local wine scene and also the most humble person I know is Arch Kosovich, winemaker extraordinaire and son of John and Mary Kosovich, owners of @johnkosovichwines. Established in 1922, John Kosovich Wines is one of Australia's oldest family owned wineries. They produce small quanities of exceptional, full flavoured wines from varieties that perfectly suit the Swan Valley and Pemberton regions where their vineyards are planted. From Award winning Chenin Blanc to cool climate Cabernet Sauvignon, there is a wine for everyone. If you haven't visited their cellar door, it is worth it for the history alone, but I guarantee you won't walk out without at least one bottle. 02.01.2022 Throw back Thursday to when @johnkosovichwines absolutely took the Swan Valley wine show by storm taking out Best in Show for the 2014 Chenin Blanc, which was also awarded Best White Wine or Blend, and Best Swan Vally White or Red Table Wine. This wine would rival any Vouvray! Dry Chenin at its very best.

Absolutely stunning wines that we are proud to distribute in WA. The new batch of 2020 Pet Nat White (Riesling / Gewurtz from Adelaide Hills) and 2020 Pet Nat Red (Syrah / Grenache / Temp from McLaren Vale) have just arrived and we already have orders going out. We have also just got 8 dozen each of their experimental Grillo and Inzolia (a rare Italian White grape variety originating from Sicily - noted for it's sweet tropical nose of fresh pineapple, sweet almonds, citrus fruit and fresh herbs) These won't last long!
