22.01.2022 Last update from the from the Hogback / Doughboy Rd fire. As of today Saturday 5th September, this fire has been declared out. If you see new smoke or fire please call 000 so Firecom can get a brigade to investigate it.... It's no good messaging on this page as it's not always monitored, to ensure getting a crew quickly the only way is calling 000. Thank you to everyone who helped in anyway with this fire, our brigade members really appreciate it. To the other brigades who helped Tirroan members we very much appreciate your help always. Thank you.

19.01.2022 A great hazard reduction burn in Gin Gin this morning, seen crews from Tirroan, Gin Gin & Bungadoo RFBs perform a 2 acre council reserve burn. All went according to plan and now looks great. Thanks to all involved.

19.01.2022 Please be observant when doing any outside work using power tools which may course a spark. Have water on hand just in case of a fire starting so it doesn't spread.

18.01.2022 Well worth a watch of this Landline article.

15.01.2022 There is a Total Local Fire Ban on in the Bundaberg area, so residences of Tirroan brigade area, pleaàe don't light any fires for any reasons. I did post about this ban a few days ago but just in case you didn't see it, here's another another one to remind you.

12.01.2022 This morning Tirroan members finally got in a controlled burn. After a couple of hours we were ready to head home. some people are you going to do it for a bit We were sadly mistaken Tirroan 41 had just Coded 5 (finished and back at the shed) and Tirroan 51 was in Gin Gin refueling. A fire call come in for north of Gin Gin, owner controlled burn escaped. Off we went again. A big day for our guys. Well done to you all and also to all other crews attending. Gin Gin, Bungadoo, Wallaville, South Kolan, Bingera Weir, Burnett Heads, Winfield, sorry if I have missed anyone. Great job everyone.

12.01.2022 Some of Tirroan members conducted another hazard reduction burn this afternoon. A bush paddock and a few stacks. Thanks to those members involved. Sorry no photos this time.

11.01.2022 So Tirroan brigade had a call to round bales of hay burning in the Horsecamp area, on arrival we were faced with around 70 bales alight. We had help from a crew from Wallaville and the 2 Gin Gin Auxiliary units. Thanks everyone for the help, especially Gin Gin Backhoe Hire, Colin we couldn't have got it out without your help by you pulling the bales apart and the aux crews with their bigger hoses to put out the bales. We would still be there now 3 hours later. Auxiliary and Rural crews working side by side.

10.01.2022 Please note that a local fire ban prohibiting the lighting of fires in the open is currently in place from 2355hrs 30 November 2020 to 2355hrs 07 December 2020 for the Bundaberg and other Local Government Areas. 08.01.2022 WATCH OUT! Firefighters may use heavy machinery near roads during hazard reduction burns and when putting in fire breaks. When you’re on the road and see ...crews undertaking these works, we urge you to drive with caution and to conditions, and follow the directions of crews on the ground. See more

06.01.2022 In the early hours of this morning a house on Horsecamp Rd was consumed by fire. By the time emergency services arrived there was nothing that could be done to save the structure leaving the couple with only the clothes they stood in. This is a good reminder that during the winter months when it's a bit cold make sure you don't leave fires extra going once you go to bed, making sure they are safe. This may or may not have been the course of this fire.

06.01.2022 Please take note about this Local Fire Ban.

04.01.2022 Happy Father's day to the dad's in our brigade, also to other firies out there.

04.01.2022 Please watch this video and think about the consequences of using candles near flammable materials like curtains, etc.

04.01.2022 This could be a very hard fire season if it's anything like last year's fire season. Hopefully we can count on it being not anywhere near as bad, like they are saying. Fingers crossed. The Covid 19 rules could affect our operations immensely for our members and the public. https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-rethink-bush/12661866

02.01.2022 Tirroan brigade members would like to sincerely thank Gin Gin IGA for a most generous donation of a BBQ. They heard we were looking for a new one that can be used for cooking food for crews on the fire ground while a major fire is happening or training days and courses. This donation is greatfully accepted, it's perfect for what we need, so once again thank you.

01.01.2022 It’s National Volunteer Week and we’d like to say thank you to all our incredible members for the valuable contribution they make to Tirroan RFB and our community and the surrounding areas. Please join us in thanking all those who volunteer for their selfless and invaluable contribution.

01.01.2022 Please be careful during the coming week, we are expecting higher winds and hotter weather, so please think before you light any fires. If you're not sure just ask. Please note this page is not monitored all the time, it may take up to 24 hrs to get a reply back. Or you can ring the Fire Warden you got your permit from.
