16.01.2022 Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are launching the latest on-road testing trial of cooperative vehicles and infrastructure in Brisbane. If the program is successful it will put them at the forefront of digital transport. The launch involves 500 vehicles fitted with C-ITS devices, they enable the vehicles to "talk" to other vehicles, infrastructures, road operation systems and cloud-based data sharing systems. The C-ITS provide safety warnings on a range of conditi...ons for example, a pedestrian crossing, a hazard on the road or traffic ahead.
