23.01.2022 Why is the ‘cross’ so important to Christians? Technically speaking, a cross is just a normal object. We do not need to physically carry a cross with us, like an amulet for protection or healing, as it has no spiritual power of its own. Rather, the value of the cross lies in the fact that it is where Jesus suffered and died for us. When we are feeling worthless or alone, we are comforted by the great love that Jesus demonstrated for us on the cross. When we are frustrated tha...t things aren’t going our way, we are encouraged by Jesus’ example of submission and sacrifice. When we are at odds with others, we are humbled by His infinite mercy in forgiving those who crucified Him. It’s not even the calmness you enjoy when you close your eyes and absorb the sounds and scents of nature. The true peace that Jesus offers does not change with your surroundings. It is more permanenteven at the hardest times, in the midst of troubles, it is the quiet strength and confidence that the Lord is by your side and will never leave ...you. (Psalm 77:19) This verse of the Bible tells us that throughout history, God has often worked in mysterious or imperceptible waysat these times, His 'footprints were unseen'. Amazingly, God is just the same today. He may carry out His work in ways that we may not immediately notice, such as through people we know or through seemingly coincidental events. This particular proverb teaches us about the importance of listening to the advice of others rather than always doing what we think is right. More often than not, our thoughts can be biased and self-centred, and when we stubbornly insist on them and refuse to hear other people out we end up making a fool of ourselves. In fact, if we open up and accept good advice from others instead, we can grow and improve at a much faster rate. So the next time someone presents us with an opinion different to ours, instead of rejecting it immediately, let's take a step back and consider it first!

When we truly believe that God cares for us, and we understand that He gives us all things for our benefit, our perspective on life changes and we learn to be thankful to Him in everything we experience. 09.01.2022 Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength. In our lives, whether it be in our school, work, family, or even during tough situations such as this pandemic, there are often times when we are completely exhausted and we feel like we just can't go on. During such times, let us remember this verse, which tells us that God is the one who gives power to the powerless and provides the strength to keep pressing on. All we need to do to receive power is to seek after Him!

08.01.2022 When King Herod made a determination to kill Jesus, an angel of God urged Joseph and his family to stay in Egypt until they were brought word of safety. But when would that be? How long did Joseph need to wait until the child’s life was no longer threatened? Silence can be excruciating when we are waiting, especially when we cannot foresee God’s timing and plans for our lives. During such uncertain times, let us learn to proactively hope in God through steadfast prayers and meditation allowing the Holy Spirit to fill us with peace and joy as we simply trust Him (Romans 15:13).

04.01.2022 The LORD is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped (Psalm 28:7) It is often said that you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help. While you may often turn to friends, family, seniors, or experts when you encounter issues, have you thought about seeking help from God?... Jesus, who created the world and controls life itself, is able to fix any problem effortlessly. Through the Bible, He offers us strength, protection, guidance, wisdom, and solutions to the various issues we face. But if we wish to experience His powerful support, we need to humbly ask for His help!

04.01.2022 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18) During tough or uncertain times, our minds may fill with questions as we struggle to understand the meaning behind the situation we are in. Why do I need to go through this? Why isn't there anyone to help me? Is there nothing I can do to help myself? However, the author of this verse, Paul, tells us this: that if we truly believe in God and accept Him as our Lord, we can have great comfort and hope, knowing that whatever suffering we go through now is incomparable to the glory waiting for us in the future. So let us believe in Him and remove all our doubts, placing 100% of our trust in Him!

04.01.2022 Today, we determine the value of an object based on its price, such as an expensive car or a painting by a renowned artist. But many of these things will inevitably lose their value as time goes by. If an object could last eternally, wouldn’t its value be infinite? Nothing in this world lasts forever, but the Bible reveals to us a wonderful plan that is eternal and infinitely valuable, which is the will of God. If we strive to seek and fulfil His will in our lives today, we will also live for eternity, and our days on earth will not be spent in vain.

By recognising God as our hiding place and shield in times of difficulty, and by placing our trust in His abundant love and the promises He gives us, we can all gain the strength to endure absolutely anything in this world!

02.01.2022 What do we know about Jesus, who lived 2000 years ago, influenced history, and forever changed our lives?

01.01.2022 "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand." (Proverbs 19:21 ESV) At some point in our lives, it’s quite normal for all of us to spend a lot of time coming up with plans for the future. Whether it be our education, our work, our families, some exciting event, or whatever keeps us busy, we want things to go smoothly and in the way we want. This desire becomes even stronger when we go through times of uncertainty, such as this pa...ndemic (which we have been going through for well over a year now), and we can quite easily fall into a never-ending spiral of overthinking and worrying. Yet what does this verse tell us? God’s purpose and will is the anchor that we can always rely on, since it will never fail. We can never have full confidence in our own plans, which are made out of our own human will, because we don’t have full control over what will happen in the future. Yet who does? God. Therefore, as we plan our lives out, in whatever we do, let’s always remember to plan according to the will of God!
