25.01.2022 Gollan Racing is looking for a competent person to assist in the running of the leading stable in Brisbane to a high standard as a Barn Foreperson. The right applicant will be mature, hard-working and have excellent communication skills. The role includes but is not limited to:... organising the running of the daily trackwork and afternoon stable routine; managing and instructing staff; communicating to the Trainer and Senior Foreman any issues or problems with horses or staff; assisting with veterinary treatments and injections; representing the stable on race days and trials. A sound understanding of health & safety obligations and previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential. This job role would suit someone who is ambitious, wanting to take the next step in their career in the racing industry and enhance their current skills or those wanting to work towards obtaining their own trainer's licence. If you are considering applying and you are based interstate, consideration will be given to assisting the right candidate with quarantine costs due to COVID restrictions.
