25.01.2022 So true. Always stay open minded

25.01.2022 Today Sarah McCarthy and Tara Hindmarsh were able to bring these gorgeous boys out to safety. The remaining stallion cleared the fence and took off with the two mares . Aren’t these boys stunning?

25.01.2022 So the diet( cough) is a slow process. Since the loss of his dam, Yaz, Brax has had to step into the unknown, from work horse ,to learning all about his dressage gear. Funny enough, its a perfect fit from his mum.- if you don't take into account a bit of body roll still from the dressage saddle. With slow work, I think Brax is starting to work out its a lot easier then leading the babies, or working a cow. See what happens in a few mths and get him ready for a few dressage days

24.01.2022 Baby Keleasie, 12mths old, out of my very special mare, Yazman , who I recently lost despite taking her to Scone. Finally turned out to grow( and drop that fluffy foal coat) after having some baby lessons. Great to catch, tie, rug, lead off another horse, pick up feet and runs herself on the float. Cant wait for this one to be started!!

23.01.2022 Happy birthday Chayse! Officially a stallion,no more baby colt

20.01.2022 The horse is a reflection of ones thoughts and emotions. This can be seen in how a horse reacts to his rider and the cues given. A happy, confident horse, will mostly come from a soft , confident rider, who can let the horse make his mistakes, as that's the only way he can learn, but support him and encourage him when he is correct

20.01.2022 Merry Xmas to all our special clients! Hope Santa is good to you. Wishing everyone a happy New yr and we will pick up again in January , with spots available for educating horses, lessons in ground work, on the flat, jumping or to improve both horse and rider. Please message if you have any questions, but hope to see lots more happening in 2020!.

19.01.2022 Southern Cross Tauri , getting back into the swing of things, and off to her first event this wk end, for a long time

17.01.2022 Three of five worked

17.01.2022 It's been sooooo long! I have been very slack! Horses have been coming in and going out, we gained a new warmblood mare and foal( will be for sale in the future) and we are currently getting back on track, Drew giving lessons, handling some unhandled ponies( check out Rescue 20 on fb.) and are looking for suitable homes for some handsome young stallions ( to be gelded- non negotiable) Will pick up my socks , now we are getting in the swing of things again and promise for more updates . Pics are of the warmblood mare and foal we welcomed( will be for sale) And the rescue 20 youngsters

17.01.2022 Something different, we are starting to learn a bit about reining. My stallion dams is pure cutting bred and trained, but without cattle and facilities, its time to broaden the horizon! He is having a few girlfriends to, but easy to grab him from his girls, go to work, then return him back to them. Bring on 2021, some slides and spins. How many of you have a certain breed, but do something completely different with them??? I sat on a standy today, who is going to go reining next yr( yes im serious!) And she is training very well.

16.01.2022 Southern Cross Sherriton, bit exciting this filly! Has had some basics and done very well for not being handled. Also turned out with Keleasie, to grow and fill out. When she comes back in, will get a refresh of what she has learnt, have few long reining session, and ready to back. Future dressage horse

15.01.2022 Chayse, working slower but stronger. Doing things slow, will lead to foundation to do things fast

14.01.2022 Finding the right trainer for you and that special 4 legged friend is super important! You want someone who will harness the horses talents, work with them on their weakness. Not someone who is quick to grab harsh tools to get the job done( there is a place for training tools , but used for the right reasons!) The horse needs to be happy to learn what is being asked , or it will be done in anxiety or even fear and will resurface down the track. Do the homework, ask lots of questions and try to be there as much as possible to learn also. Happy riding!

13.01.2022 Been thinking. Training horses is a bit like a yo-yo with body language. To step it up , without aggression, and the next instant, drop back down, can take a lot of practice to get real good at. Bit like playing with a yo-yo. More you practice, more horses you work with, the quicker and easier it gets. This thought popped into my head, thinking of the types of horses we have atm. Some forward/ high reactive( this can trap people into ' creeping ' around the horse) , some ...happy to not do a lot of work/ super casual( can end up with people doing more work then the horse to get those feet moving) some who will argue a little( often making people wonder if its something they may be doing wrong/ lack of communication) and some that just feel like driving a flash sports car( everything feels easy) Working with all these personalities and different levels of brain power( just like people, some are sharper then others) in one day, takes a serious yo-yo player to adjust to everyone. Hence the yo-yo effect See more

11.01.2022 The handy horse on the property. Old cutting horse( my first futurity horse!) That has proven himself a million times. From handling breakers and leading babies, teaching people how to ride, and just being my go to horse for any job. Semi retired, but still loves a job to do.

10.01.2022 Arvo rests after a day of schooling.

09.01.2022 Chayse has his first foal on the ground! Imagine the excitement when it was a palomino filly!!!!!
