25.01.2022 To mark the 50th Anniversary of Thomlinson Junior School we will be opening school to the general public, family, past pupils and ex staff to come and have a look round. You are welcome to visit classes to see the work that has been done based on the last 5 decades and pupil projects on the theme of "50". There will be guided tours: Wednesday 3 July from 10am-11.30am and 2pm-6pm Thursday 10am-11.30am. We will have a fun celebration party for the whole school on Thursday aft...ernoon. Friday tours for invited guests and on Friday afternoon, from 2.30pm-4pm, the PTA is holding a coffee afternoon, with tombola, stalls and a raffle in the school hall. There will be displays of photos and memorabilia that has been shared with us and Trevor Grahamslaw has some wonderful displays of old photos for you to view. Some of our pupils have been out in the town this week with posters advertising this event. Please spread the word. We look forward to seeing many visitors and hearing your tales from the past.

24.01.2022 A photo from The Wigton and District Observer (11.2.00) showing our first ever London trip in 1974, with Headteacher, Mr Jim Hodgson and Teacher and original organiser Mr Ray Cardigan. We have been running the London trip for 45 years this year. We would like to hear some shared memories from over the years.

14.01.2022 A new oral history of Wigton has been launched, based on local people's memories. Cumbria Speaks used recordings to create an exhibition and a book with artwork by local school children. Bruce McKenzie has been meeting some of those involved.

08.01.2022 Welcome to our brand new page!! This year will be the 50th anniversary of Thomlinson Junior School - the doors first opened in September 1968, with the official opening taking place in March 1969. We are planning a series of special celebrations for the summer term and would like to ask for help and support from our past pupils, teachers and friends, near and far! We would love it if you could share any photos, memories or memorabilia from the last 50 years that we could... use as part of our celebrations. 07.01.2022 Our Mini Police had an exciting visit from Peter McCall, Cumbria's Police and Crime Commissioner, this morning. It was very interesting to hear about his role in Cumbria. He also attended our school and enjoyed a trip down memory lane.
