15.01.2022 A message from Swimming Queensland: Dear Clubs We are writing to you to give you all the information your Club needs to ensure all events (i.e. activities inclu...ding but not limited to, training, combined training, club nights, presentation days, time trials, dual meets, championships, development, transition and preparation meets) happening within your Club’s community are following COVID-Safe guidelines. In the July 17th edition of our Club News fortnightly newsletter, we provided information and links specifically related to COVID-Safe meets. There have been further amendments to the approved Stage 3 Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan this week. We have now compiled an updated comprehensive guide with information to assist our Clubs and Regions with all club activities, available here. As we expect current guidelines and restrictions to be in place for some time, it’s important that if your Club is hosting any events this year (including club nights), you read this information carefully. Given a requirement for clubs hosting events is to complete the Industry Plan Checklist and Statement of Compliance, Swimming Queensland (SQ) requires clubs to supply us with a copy of their Statement of Compliance. This is to help maintain the integrity of our sport and protection of members by clubs and regions confirming the appropriate COVID-Safe measures have been considered and applied. A copy of your Club’s Statement of Compliance will be required prior to any meets or club nights opening for nominations in Swim Central. Your Club can upload their Statement of Compliance to their Swim Central Entity Document Library, using the Document Category of ‘Governance’ and Document Type of ‘COVID-19 Statement of Compliance’. Alternatively, you can email your Statement of Compliance to us ([email protected]) and we will upload for you. The emphasis in Stage 3 is on group management to limit co-mingling and to allow for targeted contact tracing with the least amount of impact to the event and community. Whilst some venues may have a system in place, which clubs are able to utilise, many won’t and it will be up to your Club to implement an appropriate system. SQ has taken out a paid EVA Check-in subscription for contact tracing purposes and is able to extend this to clubs and regions to use for free. Specifically, we are able to issue each club with a venue specific QR code to be used for collecting attendee details through check-in and check-out. Further information around this process can be found in the SQ Activity Guidelines and supporting FAQ. We will be using our social media to communicate key messages related to hosting and attending COVID-Safe Events in coming weeks and months. This includes any health directives or changes to restrictions or guidelines in relation to hosting or attending events. It would be appreciated if you could share this with your members, as appropriate. We are in the process of developing other resources, e.g. PA announcements to use during events and FAQ document, to help in the application of all COVID-Safe measures in your specific environment. In order to keep up to date with the current versions of COVID information, documents, resources, guidelines and FAQs, please continually refer to this page. We understand there is a lot of information being provided and our season’s events will look different to what we are all used to. What we do know is we can resume our sport safely through shared responsibility in hosting and attending events. SQ are available to provide support and answer your questions as they arise. Please don’t hesitate to contact us as you work your way through. Thank you for your commitment to swimming and COVID Safety; we are all in this together, let’s unite against COVID-19! If you have questions please get in touch with us in the office via email ([email protected]) or phone (07 3390 2011). Kind Regards, Swimming Queensland

15.01.2022 There have been some emergent changes communicated by the Queensland Government as at 8:00am Saturday, 22 August 2020 with some resultant measures implemented i...n the following areas: - Brisbane - Ipswich - Logan - Scenic rim - Lockyer Valley - Moreton Bay - Redlands Swimming Queensland are aware of these changes and the relevant directives. We will continue to monitor the situation, however as at today there are no directives that affect the upcoming meets or development activities proceeding in accordance with the Swimming Pool & Aquatic Centre Industry COVID Safe Plan. From 8:00am, 22 August, any business or organisation, including community sporting activities and events, operating in accordance with their relevant Industry COVID Safe Plan, are safe to proceed, ensuring the plan is enacted. This means all attendees playing their part in adhering to the physical distancing, hygiene and contact tracing measures in place. For social gatherings either within homes or public spaces, these are restricted to a maximum group size of 10 people. Outside of this, where possible, members of the general public should limit outings and have a quiet weekend at home. If you are experiencing any COVID or flu-like symptoms at all, it is important you get tested immediately. Once again, a great reminder of the shared responsibility we have in keeping ourselves, our loved ones and the greater community safe in following all measures in place and in particular physical distancing and personal hygiene.
