11.01.2022 Tian came in for an interview in February of 2020. After recently moving to Melbourne from her home town of Perth, to be with her boyfriend & start her new career in hairdressing. Kyra & Ash met with Tian across the road @theveganshack (a homely cafe located across from TKAY) to chat to her about starting her hair journey. With a beautiful big smile, well-spoken & charming girl sat in-front of us, we were sold! Tian showed so much drive & passion to learn from day one. She ...quickly became an essential part of the team. A fellow snack lover, chocoholic, great story teller & the best assistant. Not long after, COVID happened. Putting her progression on hold for any hands on learning. But Tian continued to educate herself during lockdown, conitinuing mannequin work in retouch applications, highlighting & blow waving. Making IGTV’s, Reels, TikToks & going LIVE on Insta, all within her first 6 months of hairdressing. Tian’s passion never slowed down even after experiencing a pandemic so far away from her family at the cool age of 19. Tian became an essential part of the TKAY Team & it is with great sadness to see her go. Tian will always be apart of the TKAY Team, even when she finds her new hair home over in Perth. 10.01.2022 Does your colour fade quickly Here’s our top tips to prolong your colour as long as possible! Get ready to take notes... 1. After your colour service, DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR! The longer you can hold off washing your hair straight after your colour the better. Washing too soon won’t allow the colour to set in & youll be watching it go down the drain! TKAY recommends AT LEAST 3 days after your colour before washing ... 2. Using Professional products, I know many of you know this but some do forget. Please don’t use supermarket shampoo on your colour, blondes will go dull & yellow, Brunettes will become drab & faded. 3. Minimize heat styling & sun exposure. Coming into summer we will all be heading to the beach more often & so we should BUT sitting in the sun for hours with your hair out is a bad idea! Try to wear a hat and tie your hair up into a little bun so your hair isn’t directly in sunlight Also make sure you have your heat protectant handy in your beach bag to reapply just like sunscreen!!
