24.01.2022 Although current circumstances see us away from the office, our commitment to achieving carbon neutrality has not waivered. This week, TKD's Surry Hills studio has officially switched to 100% renewable energy. Our servers, and desktop computers are being powered by Momentum Energy, allowing us to access our systems remotely, without the use of fossil fuels. When we inevitably return to the studio, it is great to know that this important step toward the carbon neutrality of TK...D is already in place. In comparing renewable energy providers, TKD looked for transparency around the supply chain and affiliations of different options suitable for an office of our size. Momentum Energy presented the most assurance in this regard, using Hydro Tasmania directly to source 100% renewable energy, via the Basslink Cable. #tkdarchitects #tkde #architectsdeclare #architectsdeclare_au #climatechange
10.01.2022 TKD Architects is a founding signatory of Architects Declare and our strategy for action is based on a deeply embedded culture within our practice. The culture of responsibility and leadership already exists and we will work to foster a greater environmental awareness in all that we do. We commence this journey through a special screening of the film 2040 as an inspiring start point for the whole TKD team. We commit to using 100% greenpower... We will publish our carbon footprint We will show you how we are tracking We will talk about initiatives in our projects We are committed to making a difference @architectsdeclare_au #architectsdeclare #environment #climatechange #greenpower #momentumenergy #climateemergency #architectsact #2040film #goldenagecinema #sydneyarchitects
04.01.2022 The Warrumbungle National Park Visitors Centre has been shortlisted in the Public Architecture and Sustainable Architecture categories of the 2020 AIA NSW Architecture Awards. We acknowledge that the Visitors Centre is built on land that for generations has been a meeting place of the Gamilaraay, Wiradjuri and Wayilwan people. The phrase yindyamarra winhanganha conveys the sense of respect for the land that the traditional custodians have for the Warrumbungles. It also means respectfully living well in a land worth living in.
