25.01.2022 Your business will consistently transition between points of growth and points of stagnation. The key is to keep searching for new growth opportunities and not being afraid to get creative and test them. Be sure to have goals and measurable results in mind so you can avoid turning potential growth into a severe misstep.... ( )

24.01.2022 No matter how small your wins along the way are, leverage your position! You have a high school diploma? Leverage your position! You know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy? Leverage your position! You get an article featured on some unknown blog? Leverage your position! You have $100? Leverage your position!... Sadly, most people can’t stop looking at the other side of the fence. They fail to realize the brilliant possibilities currently available to them. This is bad stewardship. Instead of wanting more, how about you utilize what you already have? Until you do, more won’t help you. Actually, it will only continue hurting you until you learn to earn something for yourself. It’s easy to want other people to do it for you. But real success comes when you take ownership of your life. ~ Benjamin Hardy | 34 Hard Truths You Should Know Before Becoming Successful Check out www.bizleap.com.au #businesstips #chrisborrett #bizleap #masteryourbusiness #masteryourlife

24.01.2022 For Business Owners in 2021 Forecasting isn’t about seeing into the future And Planning isn’t just for Control freaks!!... Sales forecasting is much easier than you think and much more useful than you imagine and can form the backbone of your Business Plan this year. There’s nothing better than the educated guess of somebody who knows the business well. All those sophisticated techniques depend on data from the past and the past, by itself, isn’t the best predictor of the future. You are!! It’s not about guessing the future correctly. We’re human; we don’t do that well. Instead, it’s about setting down assumptions, expectations, drivers, tracking, and management. It’s about doing your job, not having precognitive powers. Successful forecasting is driven by regular reviews. What really matters is that you review and revise your forecast regularly. Spending should be tied to sales, so the forecast helps you budget and manage. You measure the value of a sales forecast like you do anything in business, by its measurable business results. Lay out the sales drivers and interdependencies, to connect the dots, so that as you review plan-versus-actual results every month, you can easily make course corrections. Your sales forecast is also the backbone of your business plan. People measure a business and its growth by sales, and your sales forecast sets the standard for expenses, profits, and growth. The sales forecast is almost always going to be the first set of numbers you’ll track for plan versus actual use, even if you do no other numbers. If you do nothing else this year ( which would be just plain stupid ), at least just forecast your sales, track plan-versus-actual results, and make corrections that process alone, just the sales forecast and tracking is in itself, already business planning. To get started on building your forecast follow these steps. If you think sales forecasting is hard, try running a business without a forecast; that’s much, much harder, and far less predictable and ultimately will set you up for failure in your Business. 18.01.2022 "The longer you procrastinate or avoid doing something, the more painful (in your head) it becomes. However, once you take action, the discomfort is far less severe than you imagined. Even to extremely difficult things, humans adapt. The problem with dread and fear is that it holds people back from taking on big challenges. What you will find no matter how big or small the challenge is that you will adapt to it. When you consciously adapt to enormous stress, you evolve." ...~ | Check out www.bizleap.com.au #businesstips #chrisborrett #bizleap #masteryourbusiness #masteryourlife

14.01.2022 ? Persistence may not be the only ingredient in having a life we consider a successful one, but certainly definiteness of purpose is a good starting point. If you ask 20 people what they want out of life, they will often give the usual generic answers, like a life of adventure, financial security, a family with children, some nice holidays, or a relationship, good or bad doesn’t matter for some it would seem.... But none will give you any idea how they will go about achieving what they think will fulfill them. There are a few simple steps which may perhaps lead to crystallizing within ourselves some fire to burn at least some of the conditioning which has us continually postponing that which we know is the sort of life we want: 1. A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment 2. Some sort of plan even hazy, but expressed in continuous action 3. A Mind closed to all and any negativity from anyone outside- we have enough noise coming from inside us. 4. A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage us to follow through with our plan and/or purpose. 5. Some time alone to reflect on both the short-term and long-term effects of our present course of action. 6. Enjoying each moment as if it were our last.

13.01.2022 How Important is the Assess, Decide, and Act Cycle Process? 1) ASSESS Assess refers to gathering data and developing a comprehensive awareness of the situation. It’s difficult to make any real decision without proper and comprehensive information.... 2) DECIDE After you know what’s going on, you decide. You decide on either a next course of action or an entire plan. 3) ACT Execute your plan, or at least do what you decided is the next step. Now repeat the cycle by reassessing, adjusting your decision based on the new assessment, and act based on these revised decisions. In Business, whether it be recruiting new Team members, working out the right revenue and profitability strategies, or agreeing on the metrics to see if people are performing as required is always a challenge; the other side of the coin is seeing if all the Team are happy and if not, what issues are there that need to be addressed. The one constant is that there is often never enough information to make a truly well-informed decision, so what happens is that bad decisions are made that could have been avoided. In many cases, the only decision that can be made is to simply decide on the next step. This usually involves either gathering more information or solving the known part of the problem then reassessing the situation and repeating the cycle. This approach to decision-making is hardly new (the military uses a version of this called the OODA loop observe, orient, decide, act), it turns out that this approach has applicability in a wide variety of situations. If you thought you were doing great at your job, but you got a poor performance review, you need to reassess what you thought you knew about your career trajectory, your job description, decide what to do next, and then act. If you thought your service was SO good, but you’re not getting the great referrals and things are NOT going as well as you thought, you need to reassess the situation, decide what to do next, then act quickly. What I’ve come to appreciate about decision-making in situations with extremely high uncertainty, is getting accustomed to the idea that some decisions made by owners or me will likely be wrong but to do them anyway. If we’re always wanting to be right about all our decisions, we will most likely be in trouble, because things in this current climate and most often in any climate are changing so fast. Whichever path you choose, the ACT part of the Process is crucial after you’ve gathered as much relevant information as quickly as you can and decided to bite the bullet. 12.01.2022 HOW MUCH DO YOU ACTUALLY PLAN ANYTHING IN YOUR BUSINESS? Planning is not just about the plan it’s about the management. And Plan vs. Actual Analysis, also called variance analysis, is essential to better business management.... That’s where you track results, review progress, and make regular course corrections depending on performance. To get the right slant on Planning, it’s helpful to know what former president and military strategist Dwight D. Eisenhower said: The plan is useless, but planning is essential. Business Owners should remember this when thinking they don’t need to plan, have a Budget for Profit or any sort of Sales Forecast or Financial Planning scenario. So, if you do decide to plan, ( and you should ), the trick is to track the actual results, comparing them to the original plan, and managing the difference. WHAT IS PLAN VS ACTUAL? To put it simply, plan vs actual is just the active review and adjustment of financial forecasts based on your real-world financial results. It’s all about comparing what really happened to what you thought would happen. During this process, you’ll also be reviewing your actions during that period to better assess your results. Your plan sets down strategy, tactics, essential numbers, and execution. Tracking progress and results gives you what actually happened. And dealing with the difference between plan and actual is just you steering your business with better, and more direct, management. (extracted from BPlans) Chris Borrett

03.01.2022 The cool part about poetry is that to most poets, how their poems are performed is just as important if not more important than what is actually said. In a similar way, when you go to an event or to hear a speech, you’re usually going to see the speaker, not hear what they have to say. You already know what they have to say. No matter what type of work you are in, it will be better received if you see it as an art-form. You are performing for an audience. They want you ju...st as much as they want your work often more.
