17.01.2022 Was a great morning at BNI Leaders, what an awesome presentation explaining the power of video when telling your story.

16.01.2022 Similar effort for a better result, what does this mean in business? A great strategy for achieving better results in any business is to understand the customers that buy from you and where they sit on the bell curve. Think of a single transaction and then put all your transactions together. A picture will start to form of where you make your margin. The question is can you tell the difference between the transactions at either end of the bell curve, before you transact or e...xhaust resources targeting? Or even after you transact? I have mentioned before businesses are not easily set up to tell you this, so while it sounds simple it’s not necessarily easy. If we can’t tell the difference we may be chasing the wrong end of the bell curve, and working too hard for too little. Can you see where your customers are on the bell curve in your business? What are 3 x things you could do to get more ‘A’ clients in your business?

16.01.2022 This morning I caught up with Lainie Jenkins and Victor, the founders and owners of One Family Yoga & Fitness in Holland Park. Lainie and Victor have lived and breathed health and well-being for a very long time with great experience and backgrounds in the fitness industry . The vision for One Family Yoga is to create an environment where the entire family can come for their entire fitness, health and well-being needs . The studio offers a range of classes includ...ing Yoga, Pilates & Fitness designed to cater for Mums and Bubs, Kids, family and those individuals looking for that personalised approach. I also learnt Victor gets involved with Kids Judo, not something you typically think of for a Yoga Studio. Lainie is also involved with the kids outside of the studio, teaching Yoga for pre-school and primary school kids. One Family Yoga & Fitness has classes for teacher training helping more people understand the deep background and lasting benefits of Yoga, the history and maybe even developing the skills and knowledge for your own practice. Thursdays Lainie runs Yoga teaching classes during school hours which is great for Mums with school drop off and pick up duties. You can learn more about One Family Yoga & Fitness by following this link while also checking out the studios fitness calendar showing all available classes. https://onefamilyyogafitness.com.au/timetables/

14.01.2022 This morning I was down at the Brisbane Markets talking with Graeme Twine from Suncoast Fresh. I got a look inside behind the scenes of the market with Graeme escorting me inside and taking me to his facility amongst all the busy traffic of trucks, vans and forklifts loading produce. Graeme is a chef by trade and the idea for Suncoast Fresh come out of a Kombi Van down in Byron Bay. At the time he was making smoothies on the beach from a Kombi van for all the beachgoers surf...ing and relaxing in the Sun. They were using so much fresh fruit, and any fruit not used he would sell to the local restaurants. With the quality being so high restaurants started asking Graeme for more fresh produce, with business partner Dwayne Ashton they started Suncoast Fresh. 15 years later Suncoast Fresh supplies the highest quality fresh produce across the South East QLD corner and Graeme contributes the success to his team of employees and the brand values they are all so proud of. Supplied by 60 farms with a few of them growing exclusively for Suncoast Fresh, the team works to bring the highest quality produce daily to restaurants and cafes in the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Brisbane area. A fleet of trucks and vans transports the produce between their facilities, including a purpose-built facility located in Noosa. Their customers which includes the likes of Star City Casino take delivery of fresh produce so they can do what they do best, cooking up very tasty meals with the highest quality produce from Suncoast Fresh. If you would like to know more about Suncoast Fresh you can check them out on Instagram Suncoast_fresh where there is heaps of education. 13.01.2022 Do you know the margins being generated from the sales in your business? So often in business decisions are being made every day and the impact is often unknown. It’s unknown because so many businesses do not know their numbers, and do not measure financial indicators in the business such as Margin. Here is the problem, business is not easily set up to measure margins and not having the right information can make your job extremely difficult. ... So why is it not that easy to measure your margins in business? Profit and loss statements do not show all the outgoings and it misses out on big ticket items such as asset repayments, debts payable, arrears and tax obligations. And this is why you see a P&L and it says profit, and you wonder where is it? Have you been in this situation before? Many business owners measure their business performance from the bank account, because it’s a real number. A bank account does not tell you the financial performance of your business, it’s a picture of a single point in time. It will tell you if funds are available right now. Understanding the margin generated on every sale made in the business is crucial, if your finding yourself very busy, but still not making enough money then you likely have margin squeeze. Do you have margin squeeze?

06.01.2022 I had a great time talking with people from the local business community at the South Brisbane Small Business (SB) networking meeting. When in business it's important you spend your time on the 20% of activities that get you 80% of your results. A good way of looking at this and seeing where you send your time is doing an exercise comparing your time spent in Low Pay Activities v High Payoff Activities. ... If you spend more time in the activities with high payoff where could you lead your business?
