21.01.2022 I had a great little catch up with Britt Giddy from Noosa Party Hire. The first of our virtual Business Features . Britt together with her husband Rob took over ownership of Noosa Party Hire in July 2018, and like a lot of businesses, they were powering along until mid-last month. Having moved to Noosa from the NSW Central Coast, with their 3 children, they have immersed themselves in the local Noosa Community and are loving it! They have been proud supporters of several com...munity events Noosa Party Hire is Noosa biggest wedding, party and event hire operation and has been servicing the Noosa area for over 35 Years. Their aim is to provide the best products and service for all parties, events and functions. And they will go out of their way to make sure your event is a very special occasion And while they are restricted on what they can normally do, at the moment, such as hiring for weddings, functions and large events, there is a lot they can do. They are currently focused on smaller entertainment to keep the family happy and occupied. They have Karaoke, Juke Boxes, popcorn machines and pool tables for hire. 18.01.2022 This week I caught up with Sharon Schmidt who together with her husband Adam, run Grow Landscape Yard at Pomona Along with lots of bulk landscape materials, and the usual suspects you would expect to find at a Landscape Yard, they stock a lot of beautiful recycled timber. They also stock a number of architectural items including locally made garden sculptures, steel firepits and garden edging and steel garden planters ... Any of their landscape or other beautiful products can be delivered locally and upon enquiry or picked up in our yard. Or they also have a courtesy trailer for local use. They deliver any materials locally, not just the timber, and also support a number of local artists and stock some really beautiful landscape sculptures. Grow Landscapes offers clients a complete and attentive service. Prior to running Grow Landscape Yard, Adam and Sharon ran a large successful residential landscape design business in Brisbane. And some of their staff have come up from Brisbane with them. So most of their guys have got structural knowledge, and that's really helpful for, clients who are after bit of advice and inspiration Sharon explained that given their backgrounds the yard is planned and presents well and has lovely gardens so people can get a bit of inspiration, When they took over the business it was a pre-existing landscape yard that looked nothing it does now. Based on 5 acres overlooking Mount Cooroora, when the business came on the market they bought it and it helped with their transition from Brisbane. After spending every weekend up on the coast, the family loved the coast lifestyle and were keen to relocate. Now they are able to enjoy the coast lifestyle with involvements in sports clubs. "The greatest thing about our yard is the community of Pomona. It’s a friendly dynamic town. It has the small community feel that everyone wants. We love it that so many people stop for a chat etc. There are lots of reasons to come to Pomona to visit our yard, as well as the coffee shops and bars and restauratnts, climb Mt Cooroora etc. Its attracting lots of visitors on the Noosa Country Drive". They had the opportunity to invent the ideal lifestyle and do something that they really love to do, rather than be a slave to the wheel With a food and beverage background and the passion for great coffee they established Crafted Bean and were selling their roasted bagged coffee at Eumundi Markets. When the opportunity came up to purchase one of Eumundi’s favourite market cafés and brands ‘Eumundi Coffee’, they decided to add freshly made coffee to the offering. From their roastery at Federal (Black Mountain) they have several varieties of coffee Ben said he has a passion for sourcing and supplying Australian grown coffee, giving a real local feel to the brand.
