25.01.2022 Our July 2020 edition of Overland Cruisering has just hit the News Stands. With most of Victoria currently in lockdown with COVID-19, it is always good to be ab...le to sit back and read our great monthly magazine. With no club trips permitted to run at the moment, we look back this month at a fantastic outback trip from 2014 which travelled across the Great Australian Bight & the Nullarbor Plain. This 2 month trip also explored the former Maralinga nuclear test site. This enthralling 6 page spread is well worth a read. 18.01.2022 I hope everyone is doing well, keeping healthy in high spirits during this time of social distancing and isolation. Just wanted to post a message from the committee. We met last night as normal to discuss all matters relating to the club. We discussed the usual stuff about letters in and out, club finances and how much we would all prefer to be out camping or four wheel driving. As the last part isn't possible I won't dwell on it too much. But there is one thing I do want to ...let everyone know. The club meeting will be held next Monday as usual. Well, as usual as it can be in the current environment. I am still finalizing arrangements for a virtual club meeting, but expect details to be distributed later this week. At this stage we will start the meeting at 7:30pm as usual. Look forward to seeing you all there. Scott Handley President

There's a wide range of gear to consider, but what are the 'must haves'? 4WDing Australia have put together a list of essential gear to carry when travelling off-road. Are you carrying these 'must haves' on board?... http://bit.ly/MustHaveRecovery Dean McCartney and CarsGuide

(yes, we are hoping the world has gone back to normal by then). If you wish to get yourself the event shirt (Short and Long sleeve versions) orders must be in by the end of May. Scroll down on the page where the camp registrations are (it’s hidden at the bottom of the page). In the tradition of supporting small country towns the 2020 Corroboree will be held at Mount Perry, Queensland just approximately 365km North West of Brisbane. It is 104 km south-west of Bundaberg via Gin Gin. Mount Perry had a population of 538 people at the 2016 census. The Corroboree is about exchanging ideas and a chance for clubs to get together, enjoy trips of a local area, with a mix of easy to medium and hard trips, lasting no longer than 4 to 5 hours at a time. 07.01.2022 NEED A PLACE TO PULL OVER TO LET FASTER TRAFFIC PASS? These green reflectors will help you find a safe place. Often we have trucks or other vehicles behind us a...s we tow our van and want them to overtake but there is no safe place for them to do so. You may have noticed some green reflectors on guide posts beside the road on some highways. These indicate that there is a safe place to pull off the road coming up soon so you can indicate your intentions and be prepared. Approximately 500 meters from a safe place to pull over you may see 3 x Green refectors, 250 meters you may see 2 x Green refectors and just at the safe place you may see 1 x Green reflectors. They are not every where as yet, but you may see them on the Burnett Highway in Queensland and some NSW highways. Not all places are maintained and they are NOT for overnight or extended stays, but just to allow others to overtake or stretch your legs and check your rig. So keep an eye out for them and you will now know what they are there fore. More caravan safety tips at www.truckfriendly.com.au Stay safe. Cheers Ken #truckfriendly See more
