20.01.2022 Now let’s talk - OCCUPATIONAL WELLNESS Occupational Wellness portrays the productivity and purpose in an individual’s career or place of work. It’s also the ability to achieve that all important work-life balance. Having the ideal career or place of work may involve things like: ... - Feeling positive about what you do - Engaging in tasks that are interesting and motivating. - Effectively communicating and collaborating with co-workers. - Feeling inspired - Feeling challenged and stimulated. - Having the ability to work independently or within a team. Practicing wellness in this particular pillar can be challenging for some of us. Being in ‘a rut’ in your career/workplace can be quite common. That rut doesn’t necessarily mean you don’t enjoy what you do. It may just mean you are spending too much time at/on/in your work/workplace and not participating in leisure activities or spending time with family and friends as you possibly could be. Therefore your balance between work and home/social life isn’t quite there. I love love love the work I do within my business... I feel passionate about what I do and that is what drives me. I’m always striving to come up with different and unique workouts or learning and expanding my skill set and services within my business. This keeps me stimulated, interested, motivated and inspired. Ultimately I absolutely love helping and being there for others - I truly believe it’s what I’ve been put on this earth to do (hence I’m about to introduce Wellness Coaching to my repertoire

15.01.2022 Ooo... this is a good one - FINANCIAL WELLNESS Financial Wellness is highly personal, it involves your relationship with money as a whole. ... It’s the ability to feel financially secure and financially free in the present and in the future. I’m well into my journey of learning to see money as an energy. Energy likes to flow, not stand still - so seeing money as an energy force is allowing me to have a positive relationship with it. Financial Wellness can help you feel satisfaction in your life, however it’s imperative to have a positive relationship with money to achieve overall financial health and wellness.
14.01.2022 Moving onto Social Wellness Social Wellness is the relationships that you have, how you interact within them and how you maintain them. I’m a quite social person, but as of late (the last couple of years - specifically since becoming a mum) I’ve become a lot less social. A bit of this has definitely been COVID-19 for sure, but I know it’s not all that. ... My minimal for social interaction is catching up with family and friends via text and Zoom/FaceTime and I try to do this on a regular basis. To be fulfilled socially We need to form and interact in meaningful relationships We need regular contact with others in our daily lives We need to take care of ourselves, but at the same time take care of and look out for others. ARE YOU fulfilled socially? or ARE YOU a little bit or somewhat like me? You may need to get back to being more social to possibly feel like yourself again? (that’s a thought )
11.01.2022 Let’s move onto PHYSICAL WELLNESS Physical Wellness is listening to our bodies, nourishing our bodies, moving our bodies and generally caring for our bodies for optimal health and functionality. It’s also the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows us to get the most out of our daily activities. ... We can do this by consistently making better nutritional choices, having quality sleep, exercising daily (including both intentional and unintentional activity) and by our lifestyle choices. For me - I love to train, whether it be weight /strength training, functional training, going for a walk or some stretch yoga , either way it makes me feel like I’m doing something positive for my body. I do my best to give myself balance when it comes to my nutritional choices - so YES I do have some chocolate and pizza but I also have broccoli , spinach and lean meats as this equates to that all important balance that I was referring to. I love spending time playing with my little girl when I’m not working and this can often involve trips to the park or a walk or just generally playing. This is that unintentional activity I was referring to and also lifestyle choice. But I do love a good Netflix and chill session too... it’s something that definitely calls my name and that’s ok because it’s called listening to my body. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR YOUR PHYSICAL WELLNESS
11.01.2022 Now I’d like to introduce INTELLECTUAL WELLNESS Intellectual Wellness is engaging oneself in stimulating and creative mental tasks to expand your knowledge and skills and to develop and grow your potential. ... Practicing Intellectual Wellness comes with many benefits, some of which are: - Respect and tolerance for others. - A sense of dignity and belonging. - Enhanced memory and memory recall. - Enhanced concentration. - Improving how to express yourself and your thoughts. - A sense of purpose and self confidence. There are several ways to increase and work on your Intellectual Wellness, for example: - Puzzles (sudoku, crossword). - Debates/conversations with others. - Learning a new language or skill. - Reading - Journaling Recently I’ve been doing a lot of research, specifically into Wellness (who would have thought ), which has involved a lot of reading. I’ve also been journaling my thoughts and really trying to recognise my ways of thinking and expressing myself. It has really challenged my intellectual wellness in a positive (and sometimes confronting) way. I love doing puzzles too (particularly Tetris style), it’s stimulating and can help to pass time when waiting The first step to improving your Intellectual Wellness is to be able to recognise your creative abilities, and to actively seek ways to expand your knowledge and skills. You need to be open and curious and want to challenge yourself to grow

04.01.2022 What is the optimal Heart Rate to BURN FAT & what is the best activity to do so? This is a very common question Personal Trainers are asked - The answer is... Your fat burning heart rate is approximately 70% of your max heart rate. Your max heart rate is the maximum number of times your heart beats during activity. ... To work out your maximum heart rate subtract your age from 220. As for the best activity to burn fat - personally I would recommend doing an activity that you actually enjoy - then monitor your heart rate and try to keep it around your magic heart rate number!

01.01.2022 Emotional Wellness This one hits hard for me... REALLY HARD! Emotional wellness embraces self-care, self-awareness & self-esteem. ... It’s identifying our feelings, being aware, understanding and accepting them. It’s identifying our stress triggers and effectively managing to cope with them. It’s our ability to empathise with others around us. It’s remaining present in the moment and adhering to a sense of mindfulness. This hits hard for me as I’m an extremely emotional person. Anyone that knows of me would more than likely know this. Up until now, I’ve always thought of my emotional state as being quite negative and it’s also now that I’m delving into wellness coaching that I’m discovering the importance of feeling into my feelings and holding space for them. I’m allowing time for myself to feel the way I’m feeling and I’m finding more outlets to release them. This is now beginning to becoming a positive experience and a positive part of my existence. Emotional Wellness is being aware that your emotions are just thoughts - they ARE NOT in control - YOU ARE! Like my emotions are - yours too can be your SUPER POWER
