22.01.2022 Negativity. Weve all done it. Right! Some times we dont like to admit it, but we have all done it, and some of us, are probably doing it right now! Who has heard the saying, Dont be a negative Nancy... I feel for Nancy, I really do. Just the same as the Karens and the Darryls. You remember the recent ad campaign, Dont be a Darryl. I know amazing people named, Karen, Nancy and Darryl. Anyway - back to Nancy. When others use the turn of phrase, Dont be a Negative Nancy, what is the message that they are trying to send? Is it: Youre a downer. Stop complaining. You need to be something different; or Nobody likes a Negative Nancy. Its like when people are speaking with negativity, its like a whole other language ....... AND if you listen real close .......... it is another language. Whaaaaat! .... I hear you saying. Thats rubbish, they are just being negative and its bringing me down and I dont want to hear it, Ive got enough on my plate to worry about. Consider this ...... when you complain about something, what are you doing? Voicing your opinion, stating what is real and true for you, or are you just complaining for the hell of it? It really doesnt matter, you see, you are actually speaking a different language .... the language of complaint. And when we speak the language of complaint, what we are doing is speaking about things that are important to us. You know its true. So the next time you hear yourself complaining about something, stop and ask yourself, are you speaking about something that you care about or are you just complaining for the hell of it, for a bit of sport? Id suggest you are talking about things that matter, that are important to you. So remember that, and the next time you hear someone being a Negative Nancy, STOP and really listen .... they are speaking about things that are important to them. We only have each other, be kind, give yourself a break, give others a break, and remember that you can speak the language of complaints too. 17.01.2022 What would you do if you werent scared? I love this question. It opens up a whole world of possibilities and options. Here are some of the fears that I had! And they really do boil down into these 4 fears.... Fear of Failure Fear of Success Fear of Rejection Fear of being Different That last one is a doozy! So what do you do? What did I do? I discovered that the best way to deal with them, was to DO something about it, to make it different, to change it in some way. It didnt have to be a major, earth shattering change; I just did something to change it, and then it was different. Taking action, even the smallest action, is still action, and it changes it (the fear) in some way. So what is just one thing that you can do today, to make it different?
17.01.2022 I did this yesterday. I spent the day with some amazing people that I have not seen for quite a while. When I got home I felt compelled to send each of them a message letting them know how happy I was to have spent this time with them. ... I did it for 2 reasons (not that I should need a reason ): a) they are important to me, and b) it made me feel good to acknowledge that. Its okay to do things that make you feel good

15.01.2022 I saw this on a friends page, and it really bought some stuff up for me. There was a period of my life where I felt like my entire world and the person that I showed up in the world as was being stomped on, crushed, beat up and discarded like a piece of useless, worthless garbage. I felt completely alone in a dark, cold place that just really didn't give a about me. ... There was one person , completely unexpected, and unknown at the time, that walked up to my front door, invited herself in, raided my kitchen, made herself at home and talked non-stop for, what turned out to be, the next 5 years. She was there whilst everyone else, who I thought were my friends, stood back and watched me slowly drowning, making excuses, turning a blind eye and doing what 'the rest of the crowd' was doing. Some of them even threw a few rocks for extra measure. Now I know this is all my perception of what happened. And I know that I have grown a lot since then, and my journey now is as exciting as it never was (yes I meant never ). She isn't on Facebook, so she will never see this post. She knows what she did. She knows how I feel. I know how she feels. I'll never forget, and that's a promise I will always keep. #vulnerability #friendship #SuperWomanStatus #keepingitreal
