There are two types of pre-approval 1 Full assessment pre-approval is where the lender’s credit assessor will perform a thorough review of your mandatory and supporting documents, as well as conduct a credi...t check. This will leave an enquiry on your file, as such this type of pre-approval is not commonly used anymore. 2 Online pre-approval can be quicker. However, the finer details of the credit report and documents have not been evaluated by a credit assessor. This type of pre-approval will have conditions attached based on the details that you included in your initial application. Pre-approval doesn’t mean that a loan is guaranteed to be approved. There are factors that can affect whether your loan can be proceeded to unconditional approval. Pre-approvals are valid for between three to six months.
